Check out what I got to touch today.

This is the 7 manual console of the legendary organ of the Atlantic City Convention hall.

WEll, it's suppose to be the largest and loudest instrument on the planet, once it's restored.

Right now it's not in a playing condition. It's located directly next to the trump towers in Atlantic City, in what is now known as Boardwalk Hall.

I hope to get to tour it again soon so that I can take a better camera and get some more shots of it to share.

Amazingly, it's designed for one human being to operate. All the controls are easily reachable.

There were only 2 recordings ever made on the thing, and they were done over 50 years ago.

We can only hope that the organ will be restored to proper playing condition again within the coming decade or so. It's no small job.

Maybe Harry Bellangy, one of our members here, and caretaker of the organ, can tell us more.

Even though I don't play an organ-this instrument fascinates me-I have the recordings of it and a DVD video.I hope it is restored to its former glory-listening to this organ is a real treat and is the "Holey Grail" for pipe organ fans.Remember no hi-Fi system no matter how good or microphone for that matter can reproduce the full range of this instrument.I would so much love to hear and see, feel this instrument in person.the 65' Diaphone Duzian stop would be something to experience live. The fundlemental frequency of this pipe is so low it moves you!It would be difficult to hear and any microphone-recording system would be challenged to record it.I hope when it is restored no gadgets or gizmos are added-please try to restore the original works and equipment.I so badly want to hear this organ when it is restored-anyone out there have any idea when the project will be completed? This instrument is truely a one-of -a kind treasure.
