Hi guys,
On my 86? lavamat 980, its getting rather noisy on spin (whine) and at slower speeds (whirr/clicking).
At first I suspected drum bearings but on removing the belt it appears the noise is coming from the motor.
I took the motor off to investigate and as far as I can tell, its one or both of the following:
1: the commutator segments are well worn down, ie the brushes have worn quite a channel into the copper.
2: motor bearings - there is still some noise with the brushes removed.
1st question is - does anyone know if these motors can be repaired (new bearings etc.) or do I need a new motor when this gives up?
2nd question - where can I get a reasonably priced motor if needed?
Thanks
Peter
