Odors

I always leave the open on my, and I use cold water for colors, warm for colored sheets & towels, and hot for whites. I never notice any odor. I also wipe out the bellows after the final load of the day.

My sister gave me a package of this stuff but I never used it before we sold our house and left the Duet pair behind. There was never an odor problem as we always left the door ajar on the washer after using and always wiped out the bellows after the last load. I used the "clean washer" cycle two or three times over the course of the appx 18 month period we had the machines. More for the drama of watching through the washer window than for actual need of any cleaning.

I've used it once!

But I was not that impressed with it! At least not the $7.00 I spent for the three tabs that comes with it.

It's cheaper to use the clean cycle with bleach in the Duet instruction manuals. Just my 2 cents worth!

I use it.....

I use it on a regular basis in both my Fisher-Paykel and Staber washers. It seems to do fine. Use 2 tablets the first time you use it, then 1 thereafter and do the cleaning about every month or two.

I guess it works. We're not having any further odor problems with the Staber, which was an issue previously.

I bought some a few weeks ago and I was very impressed. I have hard water, and it helped remove some of the hard-water stains on the door of the machine. I also use high-quality powder detergents, I use very hot water often, and I also leave my door open until the machine is completely dry. The machine still can develop smells, though, or at least smell like laundry products on occasion.

My LG looked and smelled brand new after using it the other day on the Sanitary cycle, and I'm very impressed!

Just my 2 cents -

Bryan

Would it work on the Calypso? I leave the lid open, but I have some loads coming out musty smelling. I use Gain HE, Downy Regular, and I remove the clothes within 30 minutes of a cycle finishing.

It's OxyClean!

If you look at the ingredients, they are the same as OxyClean, or Sun OxyWash, or practically any other of the percarbonate based powders. You are paying a lot of money for a tablet of sodium percarbonate and sodium carbonate. I use hot water and a percarbonate product for all of my whites washing, and have never had any odor problems. I leave the door ajar, and dry off the window after use also. This works well for me.

I've had front-loading washers since the mid-1980's, and have never experienced the mildew/sour smell issues so many complain about.

Perhaps this is due to the fact that I use liquid chlorine bleach in at least 3 loads per week, I pat the boot dry (including inside the 'lip') after the last load of the day, and I leave the door and dispenser drawer open a few inches all the time.

Or maybe I'm just lucky!

Great product!

I use it regularly in my LG Front loader. I agree with Bryan that if you have semi- hard or hard water, it does a great job at removing residue from the machine and window. It also leaves a pleasant scent when the cycle is done.
