So, I'm surfing Craigslist tonight, looking for a Maytag. All I want is a nice 806 set. Why is there never an 806 set? Hmmph. But, I saw the words "Montgomery Wards" and clicked the ad. "Hey, Robert -- look at this... Is this anything special?" I say.

...Less than an hour later, we have it in the back of the truck and are on our way home.

Ta daaaaa!

WOW! Another "Monkey Norge" Congrats! Those are much rarer than a Maytag 806 any day!

Kenny has a couple 806's right now. Do you want harvest or avocado? Both available in South Bend Indiana...

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL PIECE OF MACHINERY !
GREAT FIND GUY'S !

A true ! Warner- Borg Design my goodness.
That is so nice that two people who share the same passion's and are together can have fun with it and share it... is amazing I wish you guy's much more happiness.

The lint filter and the knobs shapes has a nice design I know it has a style name.
The knobs that is. So proportioned.

The extract word is refreshing , instead of spin.
What is that little Ext - Before the spin ?

Again nice machine Guy's of course got to see a vid if you can.
I will enjoy it through you .

Darren k.

I do believe that's a suds saver; thus the extra drain port. I'm fairly certain the upper says "drain" and the lower says "suds"; MORE MORE!!

I can't believe you don't know what the 2 hoses are

One drains the hot, the other the cold. Seriously, better not use that anymore until I get there, you might damage something.

Living my dream

Fred, if you weren't such a sweet guy I might be jealous of you living in the middle of Appliance Fantasy Island.

Nice find guys. I would like to play with this machine. Fred, if you really wanted an 806 I have one that can be all yours. I'll even deliver it.

THAT'S IT THAT'S IT!!!

That's the Wards washer our neighbors bought (my other mother) to replace her 1957 or 1958 L110 Laundromat or (something like that). This washer got paired witgh her Frog Eye Kenmore dryer. She got this fall of 1963 or fall of 1964 right before we got our Norge DispensoMat that following December 23rd. I never thought I'd ever see this washer again. The largest she ever used was medium. Looks hardly used!! This was replaced in like 1972 or 1973 with a 18-20 lb. 3-speed Monkey Norge. Fred ya better hold onto this one!!!

What is that little Ext - Before the spin ?

Darren that's simply the 2 minute drain (actually 3 with the pause between rinse & drain before the 6 minute + 1 minute "coast" spin. The sequence for Extract was: pause after wash for 1 minute: another 1 minute of drain, then at the 40 or 45 second mark on that inc rement the tub began to spin and right before the timer moved, the spin clutch disengaged and the spray rinse (and coast) began for a minute. Then there was another minute of drain. then a 2 minute (maybe 3 but I always got impatient for that last 3rd minute if it existed) and then it turned off the pump, started spraying water for the rinse fill and coasted down to stop. At the end of that timmer increment was the KLUNK.

The wash drain was 1 minute and 40 or 45 seconds before it stated the burst spin. Now, if slow spin speed was used, the timer delayed after that one minute mark until the water level switch was tripped and then the timer would begin it's countdown for that 2nd increment that went into the burst spin. (got that??? confused???) OK, I need a cigarette and rolling oveer to go to sleep.

Here's our Norge, well almost. Ours had the same filter system as the Monkey Norge above, but with the pale green filter pan that was more angled square like on Ben's tap'n'touch. It also had a 12 minute wash instead of the above 10 minute.

Can you imagine: These two Norges across the street from each other; a 1960 LK Combo on one side of me, a 1959 or 1960 Kenmore 70 on the other side of me, and a Westinghouse Wash'n'Dry next door across the street.

COMNGRATS!

I can't believe you don't know what the 2 hoses are for..

In a gay household, I'm sure the proper and fun use of two hoses will dawn on them sooner or later.................

OMFG - Gorgeous is right! Love that machine and it is perfect...EXCEPT for that icky Sudsaver thingy - I actually am pretty much infatuated with sudsavers...Grew up with them and our clothes smelled fresh and clean...

I will agree with Rickr - 806s are pretty common - EXCEPT here in Western PA...I did finally get one from Trainguy(pictures and some point), but not before I bought one from RevinKevin which is on its way from CA BECAUSE OF THE GRACIOUSNESS AND KINDNESS OF Kevin and Gordon...

Oh Yeah!!!!

Once you wash several loads in that....you will never be satisfied with a Maytag again...kind of like comparing a Apex to a washboard....now I know ill catch @#$% from the MT fans...hope you 2 are well and I know you are happy!Hope we can talk soon..Hans

Neat!

I love the agitator design in this one! Norge was never a big name here in Canada, but being close to NY state meant a few Monkey Wards machines snuck across the border from time to time...
Isn't it amazing when people advertise stuff that they have no clue about what it REALLY is??? Great save!!!

Is this the only Norge Suds Saver known to exist?
No my 1956 Norge Time-line is also a suds saver machine.

Well last night the machine wasn't performing very (transmission issues), but it did sit in the previous owners garage for at least a couple of days in 40 to 55 degree weather so the transmission oil was cold. After sitting overnight in the warmer basement the machine seems to be performing better this morning. Later on I'll fill it with some hot water and see if we can't get this thing going perfectly. ***fingers and eyes crossed***
