What is that little Ext - Before the spin ?

Darren that's simply the 2 minute drain (actually 3 with the pause between rinse & drain before the 6 minute + 1 minute "coast" spin. The sequence for Extract was: pause after wash for 1 minute: another 1 minute of drain, then at the 40 or 45 second mark on that inc rement the tub began to spin and right before the timer moved, the spin clutch disengaged and the spray rinse (and coast) began for a minute. Then there was another minute of drain. then a 2 minute (maybe 3 but I always got impatient for that last 3rd minute if it existed) and then it turned off the pump, started spraying water for the rinse fill and coasted down to stop. At the end of that timmer increment was the KLUNK.

The wash drain was 1 minute and 40 or 45 seconds before it stated the burst spin. Now, if slow spin speed was used, the timer delayed after that one minute mark until the water level switch was tripped and then the timer would begin it's countdown for that 2nd increment that went into the burst spin. (got that??? confused???) OK, I need a cigarette and rolling oveer to go to sleep.

Here's our Norge, well almost. Ours had the same filter system as the Monkey Norge above, but with the pale green filter pan that was more angled square like on Ben's tap'n'touch. It also had a 12 minute wash instead of the above 10 minute.

OMFG - Gorgeous is right! Love that machine and it is perfect...EXCEPT for that icky Sudsaver thingy - I actually am pretty much infatuated with sudsavers...Grew up with them and our clothes smelled fresh and clean...

I will agree with Rickr - 806s are pretty common - EXCEPT here in Western PA...I did finally get one from Trainguy(pictures and some point), but not before I bought one from RevinKevin which is on its way from CA BECAUSE OF THE GRACIOUSNESS AND KINDNESS OF Kevin and Gordon...

I love the agitator design in this one! Norge was never a big name here in Canada, but being close to NY state meant a few Monkey Wards machines snuck across the border from time to time...

No my 1956 Norge Time-line is also a suds saver machine.

Well last night the machine wasn't performing very (transmission issues), but it did sit in the previous owners garage for at least a couple of days in 40 to 55 degree weather so the transmission oil was cold. After sitting overnight in the warmer basement the machine seems to be performing better this morning. Later on I'll fill it with some hot water and see if we can't get this thing going perfectly. ***fingers and eyes crossed***

Fred and Robert, what a fun find!! I love the fact that it has a console light. Neat to that they used the word extract, is there any difference between that and spin? Don't give up Fred, those 806's will show up sooner or later!! Thanks for sharing!!

But really dying to know where the suds returns, from the filter or thru a port in the floor.

Tickles me pink that you keep falling over suds-savers. Haven't seen "Extract" in ages. So original, and never repeated. Don't you just love the "Soak Cycle" ? Advertising tries to trick us into believing anything.

Now if you really want to warm up that tranny, fill up the tub behind the washer with nice hot slippery water, turn the dial to Suds-Return, and she'll be hot as hell.

Guys - this is a very, very cool grab. Wrap an electric blanket around the transmission. Once it is all warm and cozy I'm sure it will be more than happy to wash a load of laundry!

Some Lunchtime checking has shown...

Now that the machine has warmed up I can really test it. Unfortunately the machine has two major issues:

#1 The motor overload protector keeps cutting out after the motor runs for 3 to 5 minutes. This happens even without the belt in place and the motor bearings are perfectly fine. There is probably a small short between some of the run windings. The overload switch resets itself in about 2 minutes and I can run machine for another 3 minutes or so before it cuts out again.

#2 The transmission is not spinning the tub properly, keeps on agitating slowly and rotating the tub slowly which means the clutch spring deep in the transmission is broken or defective.

So without a donar machine for parts, this washer unfortunatley will be turned into a Toyota :-(
