This is super news! And it's an American company to boot! I regret not looking at Speed Queen washers when the transmission on my first top loader went out.
I wish SQ was more easily bought in my area. Charlotte is not exactly a small city anymore, but we have to go to Statesville, NC or Gaffney, SC to buy a Speed Queen. That's more than 40 miles to either place.
I know they could increase their sales with a market presence here!

I can't buy SQ washers or equipment anywhere near Greenville-their website points me to Charlotte,NC-so someone in Charlotte has difficulty too?I would want SQ equipment-they may improve their bottom line even more by making the machines available from INDEPENDENT appliance dealers-there are a few of those in my area.Used SQ equipment-you just don't see them in my area-its real weird.There are two independent dealers in my area-one in town and the other in Ayden.I just don't think box stores like Best Buy or even Sears should carry SQ appliances.

SQ only deals with independent dealers. They refuse to use the big box stores because they like the old way of doing things. Ya know, actually getting to know the customer and not thinking of them as another number or commission check.

They want to make sure you have SERVICE when you need it. They are also VERY picky about who sells the commerical line. It is almost impossible for a "new" dealer to ever get to sell SQ unless they have a super track record. They dont want to get a name like L G has done. On the commerical side they are also very very picky about installation on new equiptment more than once I have had them call an ask many questions about how the machines were installed and if they were friendly and did the best to not disrupt normal work flow.. Also made sure I was assigned a tech service rep to handle all or any problems.. When I have any Questions I call him. This way they kinda get to know your operation and any problems you have had in the past with out having to explain everything to someone new each time.. A VERY good way to do things.. They are the ONLY commerical line that does it this way..
