An Important Announcement from Endora

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support AutomaticWasher.org:

OK, it would be nice if the super forum was archived, but I've managed to survive without having it around forever <br
Seems to me that somebody might want to go out and start their own discussion website and find out how much fun it must be to administer it when people get pushy, cranky, demanding, unappreciative, mean, etc. (I used to be an IT administrator, can you tell?) <br
I happen to love artichokes otherwise I'd vote "D". <br

It never ceases to amaze me, as I read the threads, the abso

we have here. It boggles my mind that someone with such talent and such a huge work ethic and so selflessly devoted to our happiness, providing us with an unconditionally welcome home for our oddity.....and he just lets people be, never meddling, always seeing the best in everyone, putting out fires without asking questions--THIS IS A PALACE, Turnip Man -- of total freedom and goodwill. How can you not get this??????? <br
ROBERT, WE WOULD BE LOST WITHOUT YOU AND WE LOVE YOU <br
Hey, don't you go callin' me an oddity, Mickey;'D, you freak!!!!!! <br
<br

I'm voting D, Endora.

I'm glad it's not just me who noticed the distinctively "60s" feel of the graphics and colors. I KNEW I wasn't just imagining it <br
Difference is, I happen to love it. You've created not only a fun and interesting site here, Robert, but you've managed to give it a distinctive look. I visit a lot of sites, and yours is one that stands out <br
Hmmm. James Lileks' site is another site which uses fun graphics and has a distinctive look. And he's Minneapolis-based. Interesting <br
Anyway, please don't change a thing (except for the correspondent/artichoke thing). A lot of us know a good thing when we see it <br

Endora~

"It seems the group is made up of older, ( I say older than you and I. I am 40, your what 44?) 50 somethings, 60 something, plus, people who may have once worked in the industry in some capacity. If this is your primary audience, please let me know. I will find greener grass elsewhere". <br <br <br
Honestly,I find this statement to be quite shallow! Why is age even an issue?..I have converse
with members as young as 18 and as old as 60

I believe everyone brings something special and unique to the forum regardless of age or sexual preference for that matter. Personally at age 38, the majority of my friends are older than me. I don't buy into the shallowness that sometimes is ever present within the gay community regarding age <br <br
Lastly, Endora dear, you are so kind. All of us know the time, effort and expense it must take to maintain this site and for that I can and will continue to say thank you. We are all priviledged guests here at AW. So to the person who emailed Robert, I ask you would you ever dream of being a guest in someone's home and telling them how to run it <br <br <br
oh and before I forget, I too vote "D&quot <br <br <br

Oh when I read that line about the being 44 I gasped....and I said oooohhh that Bitch!
My partner was next to me as I was reading the thread and getting a kick out of what was being suggested. He doesnt understand the "family" we have here and I am glad to see I am so not alone in my love for appliances. For the logest time I thought I was an odd ball and when I tell people that there is a website like this they think its funny. I told em laugh all you want but I learn alot here and have made a few friends along the way. And Robert this is a great thread.

The site graphics and group names are very 1960s

Well let's see, ... The air traffic controller is doing an outstanding job from the Control Tower. And incidentally, the control tower is older than "very 1960s". The FAA set up the control tower in 1957 and immediately proved it can rapidly acommmodate 1140 flights per day!!! and as little as 660 (or is it 630) flights too. I'm sorry this particular passenger does not appear to recognize the significance and meaning of the airplanes from 1957--Imperial, Deluxe, and Super. Those aircraft were well ahead of their time in style. And ya know, General Motors did some "Sheer Look"ing airplane production that year in 1957. Again, let me say the air traffic controller is doing an outstanding job. I cannot thank him enough for all he's done to keep all the incoming flights well managed and the airport always well-lit, organized, and welcoming for all flights and passengers. I've met so many wonderful passengers over the years and encountered so many wonderful airplanes from the various airlines range of vintage, I always thought I was the only one in the whole world that loved all of those from the late 1940s on. Now I don't feel so alone <br
So, I have a suggestion for the Air Traffic Controller in the Control Tower. I hear the air traffic controller is on intimate terms with Endora. I think he should avail himself of that friendship and execute C and then D!!!!! It was nice to have the Air Traffic Controller do an overhead PA Announcement so all interested passengers could provide input on how well the flights are being managed <br

i vote for a D

Robert I love this website that you have created, and I stand in awe of it all the time, hardwork, and effort you have put into this website and just coming here everyday makes me feel so not alone in my love of washing machines old and new. I know it is your website to do with as you please, but i beg you the way it is, is the reason i keep coming back everyday to see everyone's reaction to other's new machines whether they be vintage or new, you guys make me laugh, and I enjoy coming here because i now feel like i have friends all over the world like with a love of washers and dryers and other fabulous vintage items. I beg you keep it the way it is and just turn those idiots into artichokes. I think you are doing just fine with this beautiful website Robert, i mean when you created this perfect website. How can you change perfection when it is already perfect.

I say D

D for kiss a fat "D"ogs a** <br
Gee its a shame that there's only room for one site on the internet for interest in appliances.....so of course Robert should change his to accomodate one person....I think not.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it!!

Robert <br
I say we leave things just the way they are. He who doesn't like it can go somewhere else <br
Ron <br
PS: Many thanks for the great work you do! Keep it up

OMG!

"It seems the group is made up of older, ( I say older than you and I. I am 40, your what 44?) 50 somethings, 60 something.&quot <br
With a statement like that, we should have his bollocks for earrings. OLDER!!!! I definitely say ARTICHOKE!!! <br
Robb

(Gladys, peeking thru the blinds trying to see whats going on over there), It looks like they are turning someone into an "Artichoke"!! <br
Automaticwasher Rules! (D)

Leave Robert Alone!!!!

I say a good ol' Archie Bunker "Raspberry" at this person <br
HOWEVER, I am a fan of late 60s/70s appliances and stuff and I do kinda feel a little out of place because I like this stuff and I've heard zillions of times how horrible the color "Avocado" is. Yeah, it ain't pank, turqouise or yeller, but it is a fab color <br
But still. <br
PPPPPBBBBBBBBBBBBTTTTTTTT!!!!! :-P~~~~~

I'm appalled!

I vote D here and when you're done with that put him in a pot of boiling water! Robert if it wasn't for you and your dedication to this site we would not have it. I find it completely beyond words that someone would actually complain about something when they haven't shelled out one penny to help with the development of this site nor put in one second of their time. This site is fantastic! Thank-You Robert
Mar

STOP WITH ALL THE D's STOP WITH ALL THE D'S PEOPLE W

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH <br
I"M INNOCENT. <br
I'M NOT LARRY CRAIG OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH taptaptaptaptaptap

"D&quot <br
Robert, <br
Keep your head held high and keep on moving forward. This has been a tough year for the Vacuum Group as we have had a couple of now former members who refuse to change and move forward. The majority of the AW supports you and all your efforts, the time, the energy you devote to all of us both here and at Vacuum Land is simply incredible <br
There will always be those who refuse to make changes in their lives leaving them stale and stagnont. I love the super forum here as well as the off topic forum at Vacuum Land, in fact, when I get up in the morning, they are the first two place I go to read. <br
No one other than yourself knows the workings of this site and what is best to keep it alive and cost effective....don't let one narrow minded person get you down...turn them into an artichoke, make a good dip out of them and let the rest enjoy themselves <br
Morga <br <br

I am voting twice, first give them a big "C" then change this person into an artichoke. <br
I to have a few words I would like to say about these comments, but will not. I have loved appliances since I was two years old and always will. <br
I was in the computer field for over 28 years and storage space and data administration are not cheap and are time consuming. What we see as an enduser is the result of a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes. Robert you have a fantastic site here. I don't want any format changes, what would the site be if the many times I open it up everyday and not seeing the Frigidaire pulsating away on the home page <br
Mike

Don't change a thing.....

Robert, thanks a million for all you have done and continue to do on both sites. As someone had said about three hundred entries before mine, D, and if it ain't broke----Also, considering the era in which automatic washers came to be, I think it is appropriate that the web site reflect that style, or mood. I got the biggest kick out of, and joined this site because every one is so helpful and FUNNY!!! No, I love it just the way it is...

Endora.....

While I also wish that you would archive, I think things are just fine the way they are! Oh, and if it isn't too much bother, drop the wanted list prices and just list the appliances that are wanted.......I say turn them into an artichoke! Mark Lightedcontrols

Robert, I say leave the site as is. You have put so much work in this since I have joined in March of 03. I am sure you had countless hours in this site before 03 also.
I cannot think of one thing that I could say to improve on what you have done. I can say the threaded format was the best improvement since I have been here. I know that most of the people here really appreciate the work you do to keep this site a wonderful place to visit. Thank you! <br
As I read the emailed requests, I had to laugh about the concern that the graphics are 60's looking. Also the comparison of our site to a "creepy 50's book with certain pages missing"
Both of these statements could be considered to be very insulting. However due to the fact that this was your general idea and purpose, to make the site seem historic and fun, make me realize that the complainer must be one of those people.... You know the type, that are never happy no matter where they are. So don't let it rain on your parade Robert

We love you!! <:

Choice D is the Correct Answer, Endora wouldn't have it

Thanks so much everyone for all of your kind words, so everything stays as is, except of course for this one person who is now an Artichoke! Hmmmmph <br
Again, I do appreciate everyone's kind words. We certainly do have a very nice club here, don't we?

Well, i think that it is a trend-Artichokes in Lemon water!!

I vote for "D" tinka tinka Tee!!! Poof, Here you have an artichoke! Although, being from the Northwest, I like seafood and Martha, lets see what Martha has to say--Check out the Video-
PS: I think that it is pretty ballsy for someone to come here and make demands like this. Not a nice thing. I would never storm into a Monster truck rally and tell him what to do! Or maybe turn off his wrestling and make him watch Martha Stewart.Just in case, here is the first intalment. Enjoy your fish!

Harumph!

I am a 25 year old straight Jewish guy, so I know I am not, by any means, in the majority, and I am just fine with that. I think the site covers the entire history of automatic appliances very nicely. I am not a mamber of Vacuumland, but I probably should be. I like things just the way they are, and I would vote D, but I don't care much for artichokes, so a merry C it shall be <br
Keep up the good work Robert and the rest of the AW.org community
Dave

Endora you seem savvy enough to boil whatever, you want to in your "kittle", and what it boils up is some mighty good reading. I check in every day. Oh and Robert could U stop playing uncle arthur, that job has been filled. arthur :-)
