more to come

I will post more pics as soon as I transport the rest of it the 40 miles from my parents house to mine, I'm guessing I should transport it Upright?? I also am on the (Probably impossible) hunt for some door hinges as the original top and middle hinges were lost, and replaced with hinges from another fridge, which work, but not the best...help and suggestions are always appreciated...I will have model #s and better pics soon.

Transport Upright...YES

Yes, definitely transport this fridge upright and try to keep the shaking and jiggling to a minimum. Sometimes these old compressors don't survive a hard move due to brittle springs inside that can stretch or break and then the thing is a lost cause. With a used fridge, another problem is particles (from wear) that normally lay at the bottom, can get stirred up and then clog an orifice (that the freon expands through to cool).

After you reach your destination let it sit for 24 hours before plugging it in and turning it on. While it is sitting, this is a good time to clean it. Liquid Soft Scrub works wonders but don't rub too hard on the plastic surfaces. I'm assuming if all goes well you will repaint it. I bet that fridge would look good in Turquoise! Can we see a full shot of it?

Good Luck - Patrick
