Very nice. Do you have any idea of the age?

Earlier in the year, I was taken to lunch at a country club and saw people playing cards. Each person had a little table beside them with their snacks and beverage. I guess I have missed a lot in life, never having seen such a set up before. My mom had milk glass dessert sets. The plate had a curved up rim and a strange shape, not round but smaller at each end and sort of bulging in the middle and there was a circle at one end where the little footed cup rested, but they were dessert sets, not snack sets.

Yours look much more interesting.

Well that sure is a pleasant picture. I can picture a nice slice of cake or a bunch of cookies, maybe a few cookies, on those trays. Are things like that carried around, used on people's knees or on tables? Do you think that the cups would take hot coffee or tea or are they meant for punch? I guess it would be safest to put a spoon in the cup before pouring the hot beverage into it. Where do you put the spoon after stirring your additions to the coffee or tea?

Yes, If I had clear cups to go with the clear plates, that set would go quite nicely with the clear glass table top used every Tuesday at my Naked Bridge class:-)

I bet you think I'm joking but I'm quite serious. Tuesdays 8-10pm. Any male is welcome to provided he observes the appropriate undress code.

I mess the days of homes having a 'parlor', for our area, it was usually the front room off of the living room, sliding doors kept it somewhat hidden when not in use......

where our Mom's/Ladies would gather to have tea and biscuits on the coffee table, doilies and napkins....

or even bridge games.....

great memories.....
