Jamie, I remember those-----glad to see some photo's! So tell us, what is the roll-over like with that agitator---especially with a heavy load?

Well, actually, I have yet to wash in them. The washer is having a problem with the water level, tends to use too much on low and overflow on high... What should I do about that? The dryer I won't be usin' for awhile because it is 240 volts, I was expecting 110 Volts. Plus I have to drill a hole in the panel that the other dryer vents out of so I can vent this one. They are beautiful, the pics don't do them justice. The washer is pretty noisy, but not like in that it's squealy and such, but that the motor is just loud and powerful. Can anyone tell me how it works? Does the motor reverse for spinning?

Just beautiful and green just in time for spring. Myra has had those models in her shop from time to time, and she loves them! They were actually a pretty good design for a smaller set.......Photos of them washing please!!!

Congrats Jamie...those are just MINT!!! I'm envious!! That 70's perforated-tub, partial-neutral-drain Norge design is my absolute favorite; and the portable/compact versions are RARE so hang onto these beauties! Can't wait to see them with a load of laundry...I wonder if the compact dryer will turn your basement snow-white like its full-sized brother? ;-)
Considering the set is 32 years old and never-used, it goes without saying that it won't be an immediate "plug & play". The pressure switch set screw might need adjustment...hopefully it's that and not a pinhole in the hose that runs from the switch to the tub. Although even that is an easy replacement.
The Norge washers naturally have a very loud, "throaty" sound during agitation...nothing to worry about. Does it have the "clunking" brake? And does it agitate faster than the solid-tub machines, with a speed comparable to a BD Kenmore? And that agitator is too cool...I'd LOVE to see how the action is! Inquiring minds want to know!!

My Great Grand Mother had this set in White. They were however from Montgomery Wards.
My dad bought them for her because she was still using her wringer washer.
She never wanted to use this set. I would go over to her house, and help her do her laundry in them.
They were a very good set. I wish I would have kept them. What did I know? They really washed well, and I was suprised at how much the washer, and dryer could handle. I agree the washer, and the dryer were loud and noisy, but that made it all so much fun to me.
On your washer where it appears to be black on the control panel. On the Montgomery Wards pair, it was a fake woodgrain.

Sounds like the fill cut off is just stuck. I am sure that it is not a big deal. Might just start working on it's own.

Norge Bradford Set!

This is absolutly awsome. I always liked the 24" models. I realy love the back opening washer lid on these models. At that time Norge had left opening lids. Can we get pictures of the consoles? Is this a burpulator filter model? Is their a softner dispenser? Thanks much and good luck.

okay, I have pretty much all the bugs worked out of the washer except that the washer seems to decide halfway through the wash that it does not have enough water and stops agitation to fill some more... ARGH!!!! What do I do??????

OY...it does sound like there's a hole in the pressure switch tube *somewhere*. I'm willing to bet that it stops agitating and resumes filling because air is leaking out of the hose and is causing the pressure switch to trip.
Perhaps you could try replacing it? Remove the hose and take it with you to Home Depot/Lowe's to match up the right length and ID (inside diameter) clear tubing. Then try it...that should probably fix the "bug"! Good luck!

Wow Jamie, these are just beautiful!!! I agree with Austin, sounds like there could be an air leak from the clear pressure hose tubing. Take it off and take it to any hardware store and have them cut you a new hose of the same size. Lets see if that does the trick. The air leak could also be coming out of the pressure switch itself, but its good to start with the hose.

Interesting agitator design, though the acute angles in the little V-shaped fins at the bottom might accumulate lint and/or detergent, so you might want to give them a cleaning with a sponge or a toothbrush or something occasionally.
I suspect that the dryer's drum rotation speed is slower than one might normally expect, since it has two fins rather than three. If the speed were faster than normal, centrifugal force might cause the clothes to stick to the sides of the drum rather than tumbling. And if it were running at a "normal" speed (or what would be normal if it were a 3-blade drum), the load would keep getting dropped from one paddle onto the other, and not divide and re-mix for maximum exposure to the warm air flow. But at a slightly lower than normal rotation speed, items lifted by one paddle will fall into the space between the paddles, for maximum tumbling without excessive wear.

I bought this set last June on eBay and my dad was finally able to pick them up from Boston, MA last weekend. The seller told me that when his parents divorced, his dad moved out and into a house with no washer or dryer hook-ups. His dad bought this set planning on installing them in his pantry when he got around to it. But, he was very busy and just kept on going to the laundromat until he finally died. That's when his son put them on eBay and I bid and won them! I'll be stopping by the hardware store later to buy the new pressure hose, cord for the dryer (240 volts! I wasn't expecting that!), venting for the dryer, and various clamps and such. I have yet to figure out what the preset temps on the washer are as the machine does have hot and cold water inlets. Reason being is that when I was getting the hoses attatched to the water lines, the 60-year old soldering broke on the hot water line and sprayed everywhere. I had to shut water off to the house because the next valve up the line was the hot water heater cold inlet and that one wouldn't even close! The machines themselves look smaller than they are, in reality they are a little taller than my Maytag A208S, but less than 21 inches wide. The washer's tub view is also a little decieving, it is much smaller than it looks. The machines are rated for 10LBS capacity and surprisingly, the agitator moves the clothes pretty well! Lightly loaded, it can turn things over, normally loaded, it acts a lot like Robert's Norge Timeline in that the clothes moves back and fourth a LOT but there is virtually no turnover.
