And She Wonders Why it Took so Long to Dry - or - How to Blow a Hole in Your Halo

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!!!!

Let me guess, the set was sold because the dryer was taking FOREVER to dry the clothes. UGH!! Sometimes I wish Darwinism would remove more people off of this planet in a quicker manner, lol. Talk about appliance abuse!

She was originally just going to sell the washer because the timer motor crapped out. But we told her to call us when she wanted to sell the dryer. She's moving this week, and it was easier to sell it to us and have us move it down from the third floor. :) As soon as I get enough money to replace the timer motor, lint filter this set will supersede the A206/DE306 as the daily driver set. I still like the black Powerfin, but the lighted control panel always wins. Bright Lights and Chrome...it's the little things.

Batteries...

I will post some dryer pics later, maybe tomorrow. My camera battery died and I am charging it.

Until then, Natasha, get Moose and Sqvirrel,
Dave

BTW....

Remove the rear cover and give that machine a cleaning. I bet there's a fire hazard amount of lint that poor thing :(

Operator error!

Hello
From across the pond, well we have the same numptys here as well, last week i picked a Hoover dryer with exactly the same fluff pancake.....sometimes I think some members of the public should not be allowed near these machines, they have probably gone out and bought a brand new machine that will suffer the same fate

Gary

Ps yes lights and chrome :-)))

Not the first time I have seen that!
I recall as a youngster I discovered a similar situation with a relatives fairly new HOH. When I showed her the disk of lint she exclaimed "no wonder it has been taking so long to dry"-----------well DUH!
I can recall sarcastically suggesting she read the operating manual! A completely un-American act. We just don't do instructions very well.

I forgot the other part...Dave suggested to her (before we saw the lint filter) that maybe the dryer vent didn't get cleaned regularly in her apartment complex, and she told us that it was never really connected to the dryer vent because the duct tape wouldn't hold the vent hose in place, and it kept falling off. :)

Looks like my grandma's machine. She hardly ever cleaned the lint filter on her Whirlpool. I pulled it out once and it was so full that the lint started to fall off the filter and down inside the dryer, must have been at least half an inch think (and we all know how large Whirlpool lint screens are). Anyway I made a point to check it regularly after that.
