No Recirculation Pump
Am I understanding correctly that this model had no recirculation pump and no lint filter that was found in the earlier models made in 1947? Is this the reason this model picture is referred to as a basic machine? Recently, on ebay, there were manuals for all of these GE models for sale.

Aluminum Agitator Question:
I've often wondered this about wringer washers with aluminum agitators, too:
Aluminum can leave grey marks on fabrics; drying an aluminum pot with a dishtowel will often result in such marks. They're aluminum oxide rubbing off on the fabric.
That leaves me wondering if aluminum agitators do this if one isn't careful.
Anyone know?

Lovely machine! May I ask what the triangular hole is for in the upper right hand corner of the tub? Certainly not a bleach dispenser?

Can't believe what great condition the cabinet is in. It looks brand new! I think the triangular hole under the lid is a detergent dispenser.
