Hello Again!

I have another Burning Desire, and I'm wondering if AW members know anything about where to find it.

It's a Dazey Model 105 Canaramic wall-mounted can opener, in a specific finish - the chrome and black version. I'm not looking for any of the other colors - only the chrome and black.

I would also be able to use a Rival Can-O-Mat, but again, only the chrome and black. The reason for this is my kitchen is all chrome and black smalls. Until I find the chrome and black model, I'm content with the handheld Swing-A-Way opener that lives in the drawer, out of sight.

The Can-O-Mat:

Here's the Can-O-Mat - again, only the chrome and black version. With either this unit or the Dazey Canaramic, I'm looking for something that's complete and restorable. "Complete" means that the lid magnet and wall bracket are present. "Restorable" means no excessive pitting or rust.

If anyone has any leads or info, I'd be very grateful.

Just to Be Sure:

Here's a photo of the Canaramic's back side. As you can see, it is chrome. If this side is painted - in any finish - it is not the model I'm looking for.

When my chrome Can O Mat finally wore out, I got a replacement on Ebay.  There are quite a few of them there every week.  Hold out for a nice one that's not overpriced.  I like the Can O Mat, it works well and it's not hard to clean since the round blade comes off.

And when, pray tell, did you see one of those on eBay? Every nice Can-O-Mat I've ever seen there has been stratospherically priced.

When? You've got to check every week. The overpriced ones are the ones that just sit there. Do an "advanced search" for "sold listings" to get a taste for what they've actualy been selling for.

When I see these type of can openers I think of working in a Pizza Hut opening gallon sized cans of tomato sauce.

I see what you're saying now. However, I have given up on eBay auctions; I only buy Buy It Now items.

I just got tired of being sniped out of stuff. If someone offers something at a good BIN price, I'll buy. eBay's auctions are too big a PITA any more.

Just set up esnipe and let it go.  I gave up on real time bidding years ago.  All I was doing was stressing myself out and overpaying.

I've never seen such great looking can openers.

If I see one, I'll let you know - better yet, you let me know if you find two, I want the other one!
