Sounds too good to be True

Ultrasonic humidifiers: Yes, they work.

Ultrasonic cleaning? I imagine that would have to be quite powerful to achieve anything, if its not snake oil to begin with.

Much as Consumer Reports (and others) aren't held to the highest regards in these parts, I'd like to see them test this device and see what, if any, effect it has on cleaning clothes. Me thinks water would be just as *cough* useless *cough* as this.

I'd love to know how many watts this device is. If it were 20-50 it may do something, but due to size it may well be less.

I also question the efficacy of ultrasonic cleaning of soft items like textiles. Generally I always thought that ultrasonic cleaning works best when the pressure waves get to impinge on a hard surface. If the clothing just floats about and moves with the waves the cleaning action may be reduced.

I can't resist.

Oh--OH GOD,  YES, YES, Wash that laundry, wash it, wash that dirty laundry.  Ohh

Ok, I'll be good before this gets moved to Dirty Laundry, that will, of course, have to be WASHED.

Hmmm

It may well work for amount of smelly clothing that will fit in a bathroom sink,...it might be the answer to the technical fabrics smell problem. I can't imagine it would be effective against real dirt.

So its an "ultrasonic" cleaner! With KB0nes here-the fabric will just absorb and dissapate the ultrasound as Heat-not useful cleaning power.Ultrasound has been tried before for laundry and its useless.Ultrasound is fine for small, hard objects like jewery, small parts, cartridge cases, and gemstones. However some delicate gemstones such as opal can be damaged by ultrasonic cleaners-that one is the exception.Used to have a largew vacuumed tubed ultrasonic cleaner-did a great job of cleaning stone slabs after they were cut from the slab saw.And again after the slabs were cut to "cabbing" rough.Sadly the device burned out.Its tube shorted-burning up the transformer.

A transformer of some sort undoubtedly steps this down to a much lower voltage, but seeing a submerged cord revives the trauma experienced when, as a tyke, I dropped my dad's plugged-in Remington shaver into the bathroom sink.

It's intriguing.

What happens if one puts 4 of these devices in the sink?  Would it clean in less time? Or short out?

Still, the idea that one could 'do the wash' with a simple device like this, plus a spin-dryer, has an appeal.

I just hope I don't have to be a big breasted Swiss person in order for this work.

Apparently, no firm date to get delivery of item......

The website simply has an amply breasted women spinning around on a beach and smiling.  Apparently she's been locked in cage all her life and was recently freed.
