Here is the Unilever descriptive site
and the Via homepage, both are in Swedish (which I can read)
However, I was hoping that someone here had actually USED it; of course their ads will say it's the best thing since the coming of Christ. Virtually all machines in Sweden are horizontal axis, a few top-loading horizontal axis machines (main market = elderly who can avoid stooping) but >95% are FL.
Based on an informal survey of my friends, more seem to use Via than Ariel, but when I went to the market, Via and Ariel seemed to be the two main brands (i.e. not a lot of choices). Via comes in both liquid, powder, and concentrated forms. There are versions for sensitive skin, color, white, and warm water use (40-60 C); I bought the latter since even my towels and sheets are colored (other than a few white dress shirts, I don't have any "whites" to wash). I brought home was appears to be a year's supply or more of Via color 40-60C powder for 80 Kronor (about $12). Last year bought a $12 packet of Persil and it lasted about six months, so given the premium pricing of Persil, getting a year from $12 of Via may actually be plausible. In any case, it was an inexpensive experiment, and I was way under the baggage weight limit so I opted to give it a go.
Via and Persil are both under Unilever's umbrella so I am wondering if Via is the Swedish version of Persil. Sweden is the home of Electrolux and consumers there are very picky; i.e. if Via didn't work well, Swedes wouldn't buy it. But I was surprised to see that Persil was not sold (based on visits to three different supermarket chains).
