Anyone noticed more Sunday mail delivery lately?

USPS has been hiring/using good numbers of non-union persons for these weekend deliveries. This allows them to get around union rules regarding OT and so forth. Also provides flexibility in that workers can be moved around and or brought in when needed.

Sometimes USPS knocks, sometimes not. Last Sunday when they delivered a package, I just heard a truck running outside and when I went to the window to investigate, saw the mail truck leaving and a package at the door.

I rather they do that than their loud banging on the door which gets the dog barking and running around. Last weekend I fixed the doorbell hoping that might curtail the door banging from them and others who come to the door.

Hmmmm..., the days of Monday through Friday post, (Saturday, maybe over the holidays) when people wrote LETTERS (or postcards) that came through our mail!
