I was just wondering if anyone else has noticed this, if I was clothes in Ariel Colour, and they have been hanging in a wardrobe for a while, they develop this very bland chemically odour. It's not particularly unpleasant, but it's not particularly pleasant either. It's like some components of the perfume evaporate.

It's the same base odour that you get when Ariel Colour, or quite a few other P&G detergents are hot-washed, it's not a bad smell, but it's just a bit too 'industrial detergent' for my liking. Similar to the smell you might get on new clothes that have been pre-treated with chemicals.

On the other side, I've found that Persil Colour tends to leave a pleasant odour, that just fades gradually, without leaving a weird scent.

Has anyone else noticed this ?

There is also no problem with normal Ariel Biological Powder, it leaves quite a zingy citrus / balm mint type of scent, not unlike Aussi hair conditioner oddly enough (another P&G problem).

I know some people on here have said that the new persil scent is too strong, but it does perform VERY well when clothes are in storage.

Is this the new Gel or the regular liquid? I can't say I have noticed a problem with the Gel colour and have been using it ever since it was released but is years since I used the ordinary Ariel colour liquid I don't remember. I occasionally find the combination of certain detergents and softeners seem to create a strange new fragrance that can be good or bad in equal measures. Do you think it has anything to do with softener, assuming you used it?

I'm using it with Comfort Pure (Concentrate)
It's Ariel Colour Powder
I tried the Gel, it makes me itch, so I went back to powders.

I think I'll be switching back to Persil though.
