Asko set cheap-ish in Phoenix $250

Sleek looking with the solid doors but since the washer door is supposed to be left slightly open in order to reduce mildew, it would be a pain to have the solid door open all the time and would defeat the purpose.
Asko washers and or dryers
Are all over with some literally unable to be given away.
The older units were built like tanks and could easily do boil washes. However like my vintage Miele the washers do not spin until after a few rinses, not the best way for that process.

I like mine so much
Mine heats the water. I bought mine as a customer return from the dealer. The deaker said the lady dint like that the wash times was so long.. yeah MY GAIN I believe mine is a WM 90 model
and I prop the outer door open
Unfort in this house it in the basement. Hate going up and down the dangrous stairs.
Former city home upstairs in a small bath a half bath
Had to replace motor so far and couple of inlet valves... prob son again cause our water is so HARD. compared to where we lived before in the city

I'm on my second replacement motor (last year). Original motor lasted 8 years, second 10 years. A drain pump (over 10 years ago), a belt, and a water valve (also last year). Still have original bearings...and I use bleach regularly. Wish I could find another like ours locally cheap.

What is it about Asko washers and motors?
From what one has gleaned from around the Internet those washers need replacement motors often it seems. Don't Asko units use brush motors? If so could it be just a swapping out of old for new would fix the problem?
Probably number one reason see Asko washers up for sale on CL or eBay is the motor having gone out. Most owners simply feel the cost of a new one plus labor is more than the machine is worth it seems.

I'm sure mine just needed new brushes. The first one went out after a hose leaked underneath (due to a puncture from something someone else left in a pocket) so I just replaced it. The second one I almost replaced the brushes but opted for a brand new motor before Repair Clinic ran out of them. I still have it and will probably try it soon...if it works, great then I have my next replacement ready. It's just a matter of time before I am no longer able to keep Britta running and will have to bring out my backup Miele. I paid $200 for a new motor and had it installed in less than 30 minutes.
