Avocado GE Double Oven Range $75

Saw this ad and thought someone here might have an interest in this pretty GE.  I'm not an electric stove guy, but she is pretty even w/o the window in the bottom oven door. Looks like a pretty good deal too.  Sandy?

....I'm allergic to Avocado and the whole Versatronic concept. I likes me a separate microwave and oven.

Looks nice.  Why are there so many dials?  I understand one for each burner and one, maybe 2 for each oven but then there is one on each side above the oven door?

Avocado but...

Very cool - always wanted to play with one of these. Convection would be a welcome addition to this micro-thermal oven, though. GE made (makes) a Tri-Vection oven with a thermal-convection-micro combination in one unit. There was one on CL out of a model home but I missed it -- for $200! A few weeks ago, I saw a Hotpoint 30" Versatronic single oven range but it was staying with the house (for the next owners to throw away.)

The extra dials above the large oven are the microwave controls.

I don't know

I really don't know why no one makes this type of combo anymore. Granted some makers have two smaller ovens in a 30" range. But this type has two good size ovens, always handy for the holidays or when you need two different temperatures.

Hi/lo ovens

I had a Magic Chef version of this (less the versatronic stuff, of course), and there were positives and negatives. The small oven above was nice, but it really limits accessibility of the burners. Don't even THINK about trying to fit a canner on that bad boy. And, it was gas, of which I am not a fan.

When I acquired my Westy Commander, I couldn't even get the scrappers to take the thing--even though it was in mint condition.

Maybe you should make a trip up here so you can have a new toy to play with.

  Minocqua, WI is about 2 hrs. north of Wausau.  This would be great for your Thanksgiving or Christmas entertaining.
