AWN432 versus AWN542/Tub Indexing

Just moved this weekend and so I've already started using my new Speed Queen AWN542 a lot...having used my Speed Queen AWN432 at my old home for about two years. Anyway, I noticed that the 542 indexes a lot on full loads. The 432 doesn't really index at all. I'm also getting used to the Speed Queen dryer...which is a nice big tub, slightly bigger than my 90s model Maytag Dependable Care/Plus at the old place. The Maytag dries very quickly, the SQ takes much longer....very quiet. I've only been using the "less dry" options and I sense that it dries longer than necessary. I wonder why SQ doesn't use the moisture sensors. The other thing I've only experienced a little bit so far but getting very frustrated with....the racking in the new GE dishwasher, UGH! My Whirlpool racking was much easier to deal with, and a short cycle!

Then it will stop and hardly index at all then it moves a lot. Not sure why. Seems to clean fine no matter how much it indexes though.

LLMaytag: Indexing will stop after a while

My AWN 542 has stopped indexing after a couple of months of use. I don't use mine as much (6 loads a week average) so the time to stop/reduce indexing will vary.

There is some kind of lube on the break pads of brand new SQ washers. All new SQ washer tubs index for a while, but after a few weeks of regular use the indexing stops.

When we still had our 27" Whirlpool with rear filter, I got a TOL Speed Queen dryer to sell and noticed that it took longer to dry than the whirlpool. The whirlpool didn't have auto dry, but generally 40-45mins in the WP was enough and the SQ took longer than that on the same loads.

Sold the WP and Got an LG 27" (my mom and I had had our eye on the LG for a while and finally found a hardly used 1 at a steal of a price) in April this year and love it! Sensor dry gets all the loads dry first time, doesn't take long at all and is whisper quiet.
