Some of you may know that I bought the 1981 24" Kenmore that was on eBay a while back. Well, it seemed to work fine and I *was* going to post the reveal a few weeks ago, but then after only 3 loads, the pump seized up. I immediately found a new 2-port pump on eBay and yesterday, when it arrived, I replaced it. It was a rather easy job, considering it's a belt-drive, but I wish they made the belt this easy to change as well!

The following pictures are from earlier this month when I bought it. More to come shortly.

Interior...the original agitator cap was the standard-issue narrow gold cap that screws on the agitator mounting nut, but this one looks much better! These are such fun machines, especially with that straight-vane! The most fun out of all of the Kenmore agitators in my opinion; good, strong action as well as TONS of splash-drama, sloshing, and slurping sounds!!!

Controls...rather BOL-ish plastic/fake woodgrain control panel, but still very cool, and the markings won't wear off unlike the other black-panel Kenmores. It also has the same amount of cycles and options as my 1982 Kenmore did before it became the Frankenmore.

And did I mention that the Penta-Swirl fits perfectly in this machine! Combine the narrow, standard-capacity tub with a wide-base agitator and the water action is IMPRESSIVE...can't wait to try it with clothes!

Great job Austin! You seem to be whipping those belt drives into order these days!
