I'm not sure why the cement floors were tinted or colored. I remember my mom used to polish them, about once a year. That's when the area rugs would get taken out to the clothesline and given a good beating. Why she did that, I'll never know as well, as she used to vacuum them.
We had friends, when I was growning up that lived around 27th Avenue and Indian School Road. Near the now gone Indian Drive In. They had a wonderful 50's home One of those with a flat roof and the white quartz rocks on it.
