Spatula Beater

I haven't used the new beater. I prefer the 6 quart wide bowl Kitchenaid. I never, ever, scrape the bowl. I also seldom turn it above speed 4. That was nothing gets stuck to the side. It is really loud but thorough. The Kitchenaid that grieves me most to use is the K5 and I would think this beater is good for that machine. In my experience, I haven't felt like I needed it. I wish Kitchenaid or an after market make an all purpose beater available like the one on the 4C. The 4C is an amazing mixer and again with it I don't scrape.

What's the opinion out there on the after-market paddle retrofits they sell to scrape the sides of KA mixing bowls? I'm not so sure they would work right, and they are pricey.

Ralph, unfortunately the thread which the Beater Blade was discussed has fallen off this morning.

After reading the thread about the Beater Blade, I went ahead and ordered one (and you are right, it is pricey!). I have only used it once so far for mixing meat loaf and it did an excellent job. I am sure for batters, cream, etc. it will do an excellent job as well.

It sounds like that thread had good things to say about the KA thing if it prompted Gary to order one. If his reviews are typical, then I may surprise my partner with one as his birthday isn't that far off.
