So, I set up a house for a couple in their eighties a few years back. Put in early '80s Maytags. They've been running for nearly 35years with only the occasional repair - timer dogs on the washer, one change of belts (did the sled rollers at that time, not that they needed it and springs, yes, double sprung?!?).

Dryer, I redid the caps and resisters (they'd gone out of tolerance) a few years back, did the belt at the same time.

So - now it's time for this set to find a new home. Suggestions? We're still on overload working on the Westinghouse (you can be sure the rubber has perished, if it's Westinghouse) front loader and the GE Filter-Flo stuck in low gear (which isn't possible, I know, but it is). Should we make room (You could just about sleep on top of them) or, sigh, give them to the local thrift shop? Definitely not going to the local anti-gay Habitat.

All suggestions welcome - they're just a bit too new for our leanings, but, gosh...I miss the real Maytag, I do, I do.
