Sandy~

Thank you! This saves me (at least) the time to download every photo I find up here onto my hard drive. I wonder if I should volunteer to create a detailed photo database that the guys could incorporate as a site link?

Sandy,

<span style="font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva; font-size: 12pt;">Too bad it's a pushbutton model, and the asking price is a bit nuts too.</span>

Tim:

Yeah, it is. I was on the phone with John combo 52 about my J 757 last night. That ad came up during the conversation, and we both agreed with you - that is one schweet stove.

Unfortunately, my kitty friend Marty loves to pounce up on top of the J 370 already. That's a rotary-control range, so he does no harm. But on a range with the PyroKitty™ buttons, he'd have the house in ashes in record time.

John mentioned that someone he knows has one of these with the PyroKitty™ feature, and who has had stainless-steel covers made for the buttons. That makes them safe from the depredations of kee-kats, and keeps them clean while frying.

If one of those ranges turned up here locally in great shape at a reasonable price, I could see myself paying a visit to the local sheet-metal shop close to the old Rath plant.

If a unit

WAS turned on it would do no real harm...unless the top of the range had tupperware or some other flameable item setting on it!!!..I dont even leave a tea kettle setting on my stove, and if we are going to be gone any length of time, I turn off the water, and the breakers to the stove, water heater and dryer.

Hans:

Yes, but you'd have to be absolutely scrupulous about leaving anything in any proximity to the range that a cat could knock over and send toward the burners, as well.

Our member Laundromat says he lost a house due to this design, and there are other stories about that, as well.

Given that I've been through a house fire, I am extremely cautious about stuff like that.

AND..

I dont blame you, Thankfully I have not had a fire, but was raised by 2 parents ,especially Daddy, who were terrified of fire, so I am too, I worked on furnaces in the 80s and have seen the after effects of a fire caused by lack of maintenence, also ive seen how quickly a grease fire can start..we had a neighbor who ruined her cabinets and smoked up her house from a deep frying accident, so maybe covers would be the best idea, I have always wanted but never had a kitty, so im really no expert on what they can get into!!LOL
