Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Hi Marc!

Didn't know that Hotpoint made Spin-A-Rinses, too!? Here in Germany we only had those from HOOVER!
Can you give an explanation for the switch's marks?
What does SHORT SPIN : RINSE mean, for example?

Thanx, Ralf

Hi Ralf

Well basically the spin dryer is like a Hoover Spinarinse in that you dont actually have any means of autorinsing as such. I dont really understand why Hotpoint put "rinse" etc on it as basically all it is is a timer. Like the Hoover spinarinse (The ones with a timer) you simply run water into it manually then close the lid and turn on the timer and it shuts off when the times complete.

Hope that makes sense.

Mark

How do guys.

Mark - does model 1012/01 or 1012/02 ring any bells with your spin dryer?

Below is the model 1012/03 and with your machine being the older version, plus employing Hotpoints old method of /slashes denoting variations of the same model, I am hazarding a guess at what model number your machine was.

Any idea?
Cheers
Paul

It was a model 1012 but not sure which version. We also had the later 1012 as in the pictures you posted above. Didnt take pics of either of the rating plates so couldn't tell you which version either was im afraid. All I know is that the earlier version as in my pics was definately a 1012 as I remember being confused as to why both spinners we had were different but had the same model number. I didnt think to look if there was a version number after the 1012 as didnt realise at the time that Hotpoint did different "versions" of models.

Ahh...I got it, Mark!!

The 'short spin : rinse' is the timer setting for delicate spinning action between two rinsings of delicates as well as for the final spin of these items, wheras the setting 'rinsing' is for the normal spinning-time in between two rinsing cycles of normal clothes. And the spin setting is the setting for the final spin of normal garments!
Correct?
A nice week-end to all of you - Ralf

Hotpoint Knows How To Rubbish Hoover

*LOL*

Could Hotpoint make their message any clearer? *LOL*

Will have to say, Hoover twin tubs do tangle loads, which is one of the reasons mine sits sitting not often used. Wish the Hotpoint machine was offered on this side of the pond, would make an interesting addition. One can purchase a twin-tub from Alliance Laundry systems, which as many of the same features, but they are dear.
