Here ya go!

We've had a fabulous weekend!

Friday night we all gathered and went out to dinner, then back to Tania's house for some 'playing with vacuums'. Then Saturday morning, we met up at Duane Taylor's shop--Mequon Vacuum--to dig through parts, and play with some new cleaners.

Then Saturday afternoon, after lunch, everyone (including our very own Robert--Unimatic1140) arrived at my house for MORE vacuums, dinner, and birthday celebration!

Thanks, everyone for a fabulous weekend!

I just got home...........

I left Milwaukee at 9 AM with Concetta Slattz,(after breakfast with Ida and Concetta and a post mortem of the weekend events), and we drove in a semi-blizzard over to Tania's to say a quick goodbye.

Then it was south on I-94 to O'Hare in the slush. In spite of seeing at least 15 accidents or more, we made it safely to the airport with time to spare and left the gate on time. Concetta and I slept a good portion of the way.

Concetta and I parted company in Charlotte, (temp 36 and raining---nearly the same as what we left!), after be greeted by Todd, my partner and one of our best flying partners, "Roberta Eugenia" from Atlanta.

All that aside, how blessed is a person that has friends like this group? For over 5 years, almost all of these folks have grown closer to me and each other. They have supported me, and each other, during the good, bad and ugly times. We celebrate our birthdays and holidays. We give each other vacuums and help in our quests for parts and the "holy grail" vacuums.

This weekend was just a slice of heaven and it is with a heartful of love and grattitude that I thank them all. They are the best!

I hope Ida will share her pictures and I will post some of my own.

Happy Birthday guys....Thanks for posting all of the great pics. It looks like you all had a blast. My favorite picture is of the Hoover 62...that would be my vacuum of choice! I wish I could have been there. I wish you guys all of the best. Thanks again for the pics!

Jeff...where is the housekeeper??? How many housekeepers can you fit in a Mini Cooper??? HA!

it was a blast!

Michael and I made it back here no problems, by the time we left Fred's at noon, the roads has been salted and were wet, but not too hazardous.

It was an absolute blast of a weekend, from the wonderful Italian restaurant on Friday night, to Tania's collection, to the vac shop and Fred's on Saturday, to Joe's delicious dinner that night, and then breakfast with Robert this morning before he left to go home. It was all a wonderful time.
This was also Michael's first appliance related gathering, and he had a wonderful time as well.

I can't wait for Tucson now!

Ah, you're coming to Tucson! It will be nice to see you!

Ida, your link does not seem to be working. Glad you had a fun birthday!

I made it back to Florida safe and sound!! What a wonderful weekend. It was 78 here when I arrive at six tonight. Quite a change from the snow storm this morning. Thank you so much for posting all those great pictures Fred!! We really did have a wonderful weekend. First a big Thank you to Charlie and Todd for such a fun time at their home on Wednesday. Todd is a great cook and we had such a fun afternoon and evening. Tania, thank you so much for opening your home and heart to all of us while we were there. Fred, Joe, and Wendy you provided the perfect ending to a great weekend. I had been wanting to see Fred's collection for five years now and that dream has now come true. His collection is truly awesome. Thanks too Joe for the delicious dinner on Saturday night. Daune it was great getting to know you better as well and a real treat to see your store. I can't thank all of you for an unforgettable weekend, your friendship and love. I feel so blessed to have been part of this wonderful gathering. Warm hugs to all, Terry

Concetta, I'm glad to hear you made it home safe and sound! I'm sure you had a great time with all these nice people. Perhaps you'll have thawed out by tomorrow, and I can try ringing.

The meals were wonderful as well.....THANK YOU JOE!!! I want to thank Duane (and everyone else) for the work you did on my KIRBY!!! Duane was very determined!!! Runs GREAT!!! THANK YOU. Also thank you for the sly work on the MIELE!!! I think Jeff LOVES it!! speaking of Jeff..............YOU ARE FANTASTIC!!!! I LOVE YOU BABY!!!!

Great pictures, Fred S. - what a fun time, sorry I had to miss it!

Jeff, that new vacuum is beautiful! I'm going to have to get me one of those boyfriend things ;-) It's nice to put a face to Michael now.

Fred- that link to yahoo photos still isn't working? Happy Birthday to you and Charlie - love the "110" cake!

I can’t tell everyone enough what a wonderful time had at the “Vac-in” in Milwaukee. It was so great to finally meet Fred S. and Jeff and others in person and see to Terry, Fred N. and Charlie once again. Fred’s collection is just beautiful; the colors of the vintage vacuums are just amazing!!

Fred S. and Jeff are so sweet; they gave me a brand new Hoover Constellation to take home! I used it last night and it has to be by far the most fun vacuum I have ever used. It floats on air so it is really easy to move around, it just follows me. Gladys our black lab now has a new “monster” to be afraid of and watch out this one moves quick! It's so cool I will take a video of it later on in the week and post it for everyone to see. I had heard that these float on air, but I couldn’t believe how well they float on air, even on carpet. I was an Electrolux boy, but now I think I might have been converted onto the Hoover side. The suction was so good I could finally get the dust out of the deep crevices in our heat radiators. I really like this vacuum.

Thanks again you guys for a wonderful time!

Robert

I second that notion about The new constellion as I have the stainless steel one and I use it at my sister's house and she has like 10 by 10 area rugs thru out her house and when I use it on her area rugs the suction actuallt lifts them up in the dead center of the rug and like You say the way it floats is just amazing even on deep pile carpet is still floats really well. I also love hose the hose flexes out so far too. It is truly one of Hoovers best made vacuum cleaners. But I just I'm a rare one has I also boughty The New Hoover Z700 Upright and love it as well and I know there aren't many good remarks made about that one but all in all mine really does a really good job as an upright and a canister

and from the "Its a small world" department

Michael mentioned it briefly, it turns out he and Terry are from the same town(Momence Illinois) and their families actually lived just a couple of blocks apart.
Terry's mom was on Michael's paper route! Terry also has a nephew that Michael went to school with!

Robert: it was a pleasure to meet you as well, I only wish we'd had more time to visit! I think I can speak for Fred here as well and say we are honored that we could give you your first Hoover, and thrilled that you like it so much.
It was an awesome weekend!

Concetta and the Air-Way Scout

Concetta had his first opportunity, ever, to play with my wonderful Scout, (circa. 1936), on Wednesday at my house.

He sure had a good time and was impressed by how it handled and cleaned. It is one of the few, and rare, vacuums that has a "reverse" revolving brushroll.
