Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I am disappointed, as it is really not far from Beko...

I've found Beko to be a darn sight sturdier and higher performing than a lot of more expensive brands - they're certainly the best of the more budget machines. The new range feels a hell of a lot better build quality than the new Hotpoints.

As for the Fridge-Freezer thing, I do think that was just a one off problem with certain models. My Beko fridge freezer is top notch, as is my Mums.

About Beko

We had a Beko Glacier fridge freezer for 12 years without any problems. I think it only affected certain models.

Beko are good

I bought my mum a Beko 1200 5kg washing Machine for £184 and its still going strong, its a year old now and its still washes well, and theres no mould in it, even though my parents wash at 40*c for everything, they leave the door ajar after every wash, and they use Powder Detergent (Formil Biological from Lidl)

She prefers it to the Zanussi XC we had for nearly 10 years which broke due to the PCB failing in it.

Confused......

Abit confused that someone would write-off Beko for fridge-freezer fires on models upto 10 years old, yet still consider Hotpoint who have churned out machines that explode mid-spin before their 3rd Birthday.

Im not a big Bosch fan, but replacing one with Hotpoint is utter madness. If you insist on buying something that looks pretty but is built out of inferior parts, get an Indesit for half the price.

Otherwise get a Beko, Gorgenje, Miele or possibly Zanussi/AEG (depending on price - Gorenje are probably better value for money than a Zanussi since Zanussis warranty is poorer).

Bekos holding company also own Blomberg and have done so since 2002....which is why the underlying quality of their appliances have improved so much. Why spend millions developing something when you can buy a company?

Personally, even though I have had (and really loved) a Blomberg, I would seriously consider buying a similarly spec'd Beko if it were more than 10% cheaper and with a similar warranty......I believe that they come out of the same factory now, not Germany as was the case 10 years ago.
