We have an earlier model, probably from the early 50s, that has the dials on the front, but the same long door. It uses an adjustable thermostatic auto dry similar to some old Westinghouse dryers and has a perforated drum.
Seller is certainly a collector.
Evidenced by at least two vintage wringer washing machines in background to left and right of Blackstone dryer.
Question remains if seller is an active member of our little group or not.

But believe Hoover sourced that dryer from Blackstone as part of their top loading automatic washer and matching dryer offering.

Last Blackstone dryer
This would've been made in the very late 60s early 70s, you are correct laundress they also sold this under the Hoover name made by Blackstone.
A pair of Hoover washer and dryer. I think it was found in the Midwest. Greg sent it to us it got passed around to several different collectors. I believe Chris Moore has it now in Northeastern, Ohio.
I tried to work the problems out of that dryer. It was an absolute POS. It was one of the most poorly built dryers I ever saw. I gave up trying to make it work. It was clear that it wasn't much of a dryer.
This person that selling it might be a collector. They're a little optimistic on the price and they don't know sh.. about dryers if they think this was the first dryer ever made, lol.

This model was neither the first one made, nor the last one made. Probably early 1970s, but I'd have to check. Latest models did not have the foot pedal. Fairly basic dryer. One frequent problem was the metal ring that was part of the drum support would wear out. There was a felt bearing to support the drum, to which graphite would have to be added. But if the customer caught the squeaking and rubbing noise too late, well, the drum had to be replaced. The cost to replace a drum was high, because the shipping cost for such a large volume item would be similar to the shipping cost of an entire dryer.
I would pass on buying this dryer, unless you just wanted to add a Blackstone dryer to your collection.
