LOLOLOLOL !!!

You are the best Robert!

I am glad that I am not the only one concerned about these details. Things like a laundry rooms layout changes and gutted appliances. But lets face it, it is upsetting when they make those changes. It doesn't happen in real life just out of the blue. I suppose back then they didn't think people noticed or cared about such detail. Little did they know that 35 years later a certain club would be critiquing their sloppy behind the scenes fodder.

Ok, they took the machine apart. The props departments usually buys things in triplicate, just for little incidences like this. I doubt the hourly wage prop dept. workers cared enough about how to put back together a washing machine. They were too busy getting stoned. It was the 60's !

The detergent was an issue because of septic systems and because of major Subsing problems in our water ways. suds that would not break down are a threat to wild life. ...As much fun as they are to us. I don't know that "SAFE" was a brand back then. I kinda doubt it. It used to be illegal to do product placements, which was nice. (We used to have the fairness doctrine, too. We need that back.) I don't think that would look good if it was TIDE.

Can I just ask, what the hell are they wearing? Did Carol take a night job at a strip club so she could pay for Jan's braces? I mean, I watched the show, but I guess I missed that episode.
I see Alice wasn't wearing her, Usual, attire when she and Carol went shopping a few shows earlier.. Perhaps a trip to the local Fredericks of Hollywood for "work clothes"? Alice didn't want to be taken as submissive in her "maids" uniform so, waa-la, down play yourself in an ugly polyester green "5 and 10" dress. Nothing wrong with looking like a pooltable.
Can you just see Carol Singing, Dancing, and then,,, riding up and down a brass pole. (kinda scarey)

Am I the only one who, well, you know, GREG !! ?

props...

Well I can say that Hoover made the rounds in a whole slew of Paramount sitcoms in the early 70's. In addition to its duties at the Brady house, "The Odd Couple" and "Happy Days" both featured a model 1020 Convertible, such as the Bradys. Both OC and HD were filmed shows and then went to taping in front of an audience. I still remember seeing that vacuum on HD and thinking Marion Cunningham was a time traveller, she went 15 years into the future for that Hoover! Later shows had a Hoover model 913 which would have been ok for the 50's.
I was fascinated too with the Brady's kitchen. Not so much by the green and orange, but the Sunbeam Mixmaster and Osterizer blender always caught my eye. The mixmaster moved all over the counters, looking like it was getting lots of use.
I'm always bummed when I see later Brady reunion shows... everything's been redecorated, and the Mixmaster and Osterizer are gone...probably relegated to a cupboard somewhere because they were green...
At least the Bradys did pretty much have the same vacuum for the run of the show, and aside from the washer and dryer that moves all around the laundry room the did appear to have the same washer and dryer too.

the Brady's address was

4222 Clinton ave

The REAL address of the house used for the exteriors is 11222 Dilling street in North Hollywood

wasnt there once a Eureka on Brady Bunch? im not a BB expert by any means, but i think i saw one once, in the hallway maybe, with Alice...

Eureka on the Bradys

As far as I know they only had the Hoover, and an Electrolux, maybe a model E or G?
The Lux appears in the episode where Jan gets glasses and the family picture is taken.

You can also see that there is no 2nd floor window. Apparently a false one was added by Paramount to further validate that the Brady home was two stories.

Have a good one,
James
