Bosch 800 series Dishwasher white cream in jetdry compartment

My Bosch 800 is an awesome dishwasher. Some of the best performance washing Dishes I've ever had. And the third rack in a V shape for cutlery is a great idea!

The problem I'm having is the jetdry has run out, and now when I open the compartment there's a white cream like substance blocking the hole where you pour in new jetdry. I can't figure out what it is. It's not affecting performance any except for taking longer to wash as there's no jetdry. Any idea how to "fix" this / remove the cream? I can't get it all out due to the shape of the compartment and I can just push it into the jetdry storage area.

I'm not very familiar with Bosch dishwashers, but is it possible it could be detergent residue that has accumulated there but can't dry out? Does the substance have a smell? That's the first thing that comes to mind.

Another that comes to mind is: Do you or have you had house guests that tried using the machine and possibly mistook the JetDry compartment for the detergent dispenser and possibly poured liquid detergent there? Years ago my parents bought a portable GE Nautilus dishwasher, and my dad bought all manner of detergents and tablets and such to try, including green apple scented Jet Dry, which I still cannot find to this day, as well as Cascade Plastic Booster, which came in a squeeze tube and was a smooth white gel/paste. My mom, having no experience with dishwashers whatsoever, squeezed that tube of plastic booster into the JetDry reservoir until it was full. Needless to say, that was my first experience taking the door of a brand new dishwasher apart to clean out the rinse aid dispenser right off the bat.

Not saying this applies, but was just something I thought of while racking my brain for ideas. Good luck.

It doesn't smell that I can tell. We only have Finish Tabs for detergent, so unless someone crushed the tab to pour it into a hole it doesn't fit in, that doesn't seem likely. I guess someone could have put some dawn detergent that we use for hand washing into the dishwasher.

Post Script: I guess I would have to swab it out, and see if it was sudsy or greasy...

It was a little greasy feeling, not sudsy. I finally ran an empty express wash with the jet dry door open, rather than closed and it seemed to wash away the "cream" so I could add the rinse agent. Assuming I remember this if it happens again, that's a simple enough solution.

with the way the dispenser is designed, couldn't one just keep pouring hot water into the open dispenser it somewhat flushed out?
