Hi Everyone:
Anyone know if it is possible to access the Service Mode on a Bosch Dishwasher? Instructions and available settings? I have model SHE7PT52UC (800 Series, about two years old) and want to see if there is a setting where I can force an extra rinse.

Thanks
Bob

Doesn't exist

There is no extra rinse setting on Bosch dishwashers sold in the US. The European versions with Zeolite Drying have a cycle option to add an extra rinse and extended drying - but although these models have been out for years, Bosch hasn't introduced them in the US yet.

Bosch sensor system

Bosches high-end sensor systems are active in any full cycle, checking if a prewash or an extra rinse is needed.

In the EU, the minimum cycle is W-R-R-D. The longest is W-W-R-R-R-D on the Heavy cycle, though verry rarely activated.
I think the minimum in the US is W-W-R-R-D, the extra prewash is there due to the hot fill. Maximum would be W-W-W-R-R-D. But don't quote me on that.

Though I don't see why you'd want to force an extra rinse. Don't see how it could help, or with what TBH. The Auto cycle should run at least 2 rinses by default (Intermidiated Rinse and Final Rinse), and as there is close to 0 carry over between wash and first rinse due to the filter cleaning stage happening there, unless you are washing extremly dirty dishes or stuff that catches water, an extra rinse will not change much.
If it's about "It uses to little water!" (which is - to be frank - BS), try the Speed Perfect option on either Auto or Heavy, which tends to run a 4 fill cycle with higher fills and higher wash pressure.
If it's about result, loading, detergent, filter, rinse aid and water conditioning should be checked.
If it's about drying, Sanatize will do more.

Just my 2 cents though...

Bosch Sensor System

My 2003 Bosch Logixx tends to follow these patterns:

'Auto Super Wash' - Heated Pre-wash with the water retained for Main Wash, Rinse, Rinse, Final Rinse, Dry.

'Auto Normal' - Pre-rinse, Drain, Main wash, Rinse, Final Rinse, Dry.

Once, I tested the machine by mixing either instant coffee powder or gravy powder and poured the solution into the machine during the pre-rinse. The machine detected the water as 'clear as mud' and introduced an extra pre-rinse. This, I believe, tallies with the fixed content 'Standard Programmes' - 'Normal Plus', which does something along the lines of: Pre-rinse, Pre-rinse, Wash, Rinse, Final Rinse, Dry.

Mum's 2013 basic Bosch does the following:

Normal Programme - Pre-rinse, Wash, Rinse, Final Rinse, Dry.

Normal with 1/2 Load Option - Wash, Rinse, Dry. In this case, there is much sump/filter purging between wash and rinse stages.

And I have to say yet again, this 2013 machine on its Normal programme, knocks the socks off my 2003 machine on its Auto Super Wash programme.

Bosch UK's Spares Site

It appears they've updated their 'exploded diagram' site to accommodate those ridiculous tablet computers. And now the website is so bloody s-l-o-w to display anything!

One step forward, two steps back.
