That 1988 Maytag washer,it was gone in 8 hours .

I bought a 1988/89 Magic Chef 20 pound  washer instead for 60 bucks.

I was wondering if this is still a Norge based machine or a hacked  Maytag/Maycor  machine?

The washer works great but sounds like a cement truck mixed with a  Old G.E. filter flo machine ..

I grew up with a Old Norge 20 pound machine and it was loud as hell also , but it  had that Burping lint filter were   this one has none.

This washer when it spins out it forces out so much water that it overflows my drain and spills in the floor.

Will a re-stricter on the drain hose hurt the pump or should try to seal the drain hose in the sewer pipe?

That's a Norge.....loud, yes, but heavy duty.....

most of these either had a 3/4 or full 1 hp motor....which adds to the noise...

pumps were usually a weak spot.....

for the ones I came across, can't complain, they were nice machines, held a lot of clothes....I did favor the Maytag versions with the stainless tubs and dual action agitator.....

you might be surprised, this one may hold up longer than you expect....

that machine doesn't have an indexing tub. I would be leery of sealing the drain hose into the sewer pipe. You might create a siphon problem in the drain line which could possibly suck the water out of the machine because there isn't an air gap around the hose.
