Couldn't resist this set of Corning Centura "Summerhill" pattern dishes that popped up on Craigslist yesterday. 50 pieces; pretty much full setting for 8 (dinner plates, salad plates, bread plates, cereal bowls, 3 vegetable serving bowls, sugar bowl with lid, coffee/tea cups, and saucers....all that for 10 bucks.

According to a quick online search, the pattern was discontinued in 1972.

I've been looking for something cool to use in our 80's era pop-up tent trailer, and I think these will be perfect.

Now I need to find a cool looking drinking glass/tumbler that will go with them...any suggestions?

My vote is for the Anchor Hocking "cracked Ice" pattern in Harvest Gold. I think that would be faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaabulous. Their nice and stout, and have they great retro look.
Hugs,
David

What about this?

Those dishes are pretty groovy.

Retro 'bumpy' amber glasses would look good I think.

I have a set of 6 iced tea glasses in the amber just like this.

My parents have various sizes of the glasses that Tim posted above, in green. I love them. Are the glasses pictured above Anchor Hocking or Federal?

P.S., Love the bold floral pattern on the Corning Ware!

The bumpy glasses are pretty cool for sure.

That cracked ice sounds cool too.....having a hard time finding any examples on ebay, but maybe it's because I don't know what I'm looking at.

I'm on the fence about buying actual "glass" glasses as I'm concerned they'll get broken, either in tow, or via the typical rig-a-ma-roll of camping...even with a pop-up tent camper.

Was thinking maybe something along the lines of the plastic tumblers that have a white insert "cup" and the outside is a clear sleeve, and then they have some kind of pattern or artwork, between the outer clear sleeve and the inner white cup. Those would be pretty bullet-proof.

Since they'll be in the camper - I vote for vintage Tupperware in 70's colors.  Chocolate brown, gold, avocado green, burnt-orange, etc.  They'd be perfect with the dishes and unbreakable - guaranteed forever too!

Wonderful Centura too, the patterns are fairly rare.

Time to start scouring ebay and etsy and see what I can find.

I expected to see a ton of the summerhill set on ebay and found none, just a few spare pieces.

I think Greg made an excellent suggestion in regards to the vintage Tupperware. You couldn't get more Brady Bunch-ish than that! lol
