Oracle touch was postponed because it costs an absurd so I am thinking about going with a drip coffee maker.

I have a KA personal coffee maker that is perfect, the problem is that it's too small for my morning needs and I don't want to brew 3 times I a row, too much hassle.

I also have a Ninja Coffee Bar. I hate that thing more than anything. If I could, I'd drop it from the top of WTC only to see it breaking in zillions of pieces.

Years ago, I had a Philips Café Gourmet coffee maker that was beyond perfect. It boiled all the water first and then released all at once. It was amazing, coffee was HOT and bold.

I'm somewhat inclined to get the Breville, based o my experience with other Breville products that performed way beyond my expectations. Expensive, but worth every cent. HOWEVER it scares.me.because all reviews say it is Gold Cup whatever crap and people seem to be very happy because it doesn't scorch the grounds. For a Brazilian that's BS. So much work roasting (incinerating) the beans to achieve that wonderful and perfectly balanced bitterness and then brew it in lukewarm water and end up with a cup of dirty water that tastes like pee. The idea of buying the Breville only to discover it's another coffee maker that makes warm coffee scares me.

Kitchenaid, on the other hand, had the syphon coffee maker. No doubt the coffee gets REALLY hot, but there are two negative points: 1) it was discontinued, but its still available on Amazon (ok, almost $100 cheaper than the Breville) and 2) it looks extremely fragile and I'm afraid it can break soon.

I also saw a third option, a Delonghi 3x1 specialty brewer. It works somewhat like the Café Gourmet, but the first thing I noticed and hated was the portafilter INSIDE the carafe, so it's a pain to use if you make big batches.

I drink average 1 liter of coffee every morning, and then sometimes make another half liter or 1 liter by the afternoon.

Does anybody here have the precision brewer by Breville? Opinions please.

Oh, and regarding espresso, later I'll buy a cheaper Breville model. I've read too many complaints about the Oracle Touch that I mentioned in other thread.

Breville Precision Brewer

Hi Thomas,

Seattle Coffee Gear has lots of videos about the Breville. I love their videos, hopefully they can help you make a decision.

And there are more! lol

I couldn't find any KitchenAid reviews on their channel, I guess they never sold that one. There are more good brewers out there, so look around on their website and their Youtube channel. Hope this helps to make a decision.

Kitchen Aid Vacuum Pot

I had one and I sold it on line. It worked fine and it was not that flimsy really. I think it would have held up well. The complaint I had was the same as the old Sunbeam Vacuum pots. I think they over extract the coffee for my personal taste. If I could have adjusted the amount of time the coffee stayed on top I likely would have kept it. I will tell you the coffee is HOT.

If you want a good coffeemaker that makes really hot coffee go with the Technivorm. You won't be sorry. I am like you in that I go through the trouble to roast the beans and grind them just before I make the coffee. I wan't a coffee maker that will get the water to the right temp. The Technivorm that I have does not do a pre infusion in the cycle (I simulate one manually) but from what I have read the new ones do. Mine is about 10 years old.

I made this video before I sold the KA Pot.
