I believe from memory steve the plus 5 was the addition of 5kg load as the previous ones were 4.5kg. I always thought that was odd how the logic and ecologics before them were 5kg and then they went back to 4.5kg with the newwaves and classicas. Bizzare.
I actually am convinced that the newwave outperforms loads of current models. I mean tell me a machine that uses gravitation force to penetrate fabric and remove stains? It was rated A for wash performance!
I have my brochure infront of me. For those who don't know and those who just want to refresh their memory the eco wash system it uses consists of 7 key things;
1. The Eco valve-water flows into the machine, shutting off the valve, only then does the detergent pass into the machine. Which is how they managed to make it have 0 detergent loss.
2.The front fill. (I've included a pic of this) The water only flows in from the fill flume spraying the load with water and detergent. I find this actually creates even absortion.
3. mimimum tub/drum gap. Extremely narrow gap between the tub and the wash drum allowed the machine to use such a low amount of water and save on detergent.
4. The sensor spray system. Basically soak and shower system. holes in the paddles shower the load as it tumbles. Really cool turqoise paddles i may add
5. The Enzyme plateau- The heating cycle is held at 40degrees for 8minutes to activate the enzymes in biological detergent.
6. Spin washing- The washing is spun at slow speed (400rpm) For a short time during four different programme cycles.
I counted it today on a 40degree cotton cycle it span about 5 or 6 times in the wash!
7. Self adjusting water levels- Machine automatically adjusts water required dependent on the load conditions encountered.
Pretty technical stuff even today.
I've been using Ariel bio, Ariel with febreze liquitabs, Ariel colour And lenor summer breeze in my loads that i've done in it. All with outstanding results. It rinses brilliantly to say it uses 65litres of water.
