Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Wooow Darren. I bet your pleased lol
Is your New 'New Wave Plus5' much different than your 'New Wave' you had before?

Steve: I think those features were already on the newwave ranges before that. I've got a leaflet on the 'New Wave Plus' saying the machines had an 'Eco Wash System Plus' consisting of six features:
1/ Eco ball valve
2/ Front fill
3/ Minimal tub/drum gap
4/ Sensorspray system (not as in jetsystem, just the drum scoops up the water and sprays the load as the drum goes round)
5/ Enzyme Plateau
6/ Spin Burst

.. all those features may have even been on the first 'New Wave's

Hmmm yea my newwave certainly makes my brothers bosch look cheap. I'm not slating bosch. not at all i like his bosch. but it certainly seems basic in comparrision. As does my AEG in the house! lol!

I will put some good quality pics of a towels/sheets load, depending which i feel the need to do at the time. And they'll be up tomorrow!:D

The stupidily large colours load i did only did short spin bursts because the load was quite heavy. In hindsight i thought i should've split it into 2 loads. but excitment impared my thought lol.

Darren

Thanks for that 18610 . That's what I was thinking of. Both My 1500 and my mums still running 1400 were the Plus 5 machines.

Hey l86810!
It is different in that this one actually works properly!!:D Aside from using slightly less water, it is virtually the same. Except it has the 5kg load,is green! and spins at 1400rpm. Which i'm loving.

I think it spins as good if not better than my AEG!

I think it spins for a good 3 or 4minutes at 800 (i believe this gets the bulk of the water out) and then 2minutes at 1400!

I do like the colour even if it does remind me of the 90s craze. Sheesh i remember my mother getting a green kettle and toaster and the *cringes* Diplomat semi integral dishwasher we had, had a british racing green control panel. Memorys.

I remember seeing these machines new and being absalutely desperate to own one! Ever since i saw the first models! I really wanted the silver one too..only slightly more than the green one:D

But yes. Now that i have one that spins at its full potential i'm extremely happy.

I did my jeans load with a ariel with febreze liquitab and stuck the extra rinse button on. I sat through the rinses and saw that it was clear by the 2nd after it had done its "dynamic spin rinsing" bursts.

I was able to do what myself and jon (lavamat_jon)Call a "2rinse wonder" with the non bio liquitabs, but i was surprized the bio ones rinsed out as well!

This got me thinking, maybe now detergent manufacturers are starting to forumlate things with low level rinsing in mind?

Darren

Looks like the New Wave Plus 5 gained the extra 7th feature!
I remember seeing one of the first models in a Great Universal catalogue, and in the desciption it said 'Unique Spin Burst' and I always wanted one lol,

Unfortunatly my Philips didn't beak down until the Six range came out.. which is about the equivilent on an Indes*it

Adam

Yea the plus 5's gained the self adjusting water levels!

What philips did you have l86810 :o! Oh dear. Wasnt impressed with the six? My ex g.f had a hoover six 1600 whisper. when i moved in their for a few months n it was actually quiet good. it was real quiet! I had to buy a replacement when her ex wanted it back lol. So i thought i'd buy the Comet equivlent to a nextra 7.5kg 1400 which was called a softwave maxi! it too was okay, i don't know if its dead or owt now as i moved on.

It was by no means a newwave. :p

Darren

I had a new wave plus leaflet years ago..on one side it had a pic of the white model and on the other it had the graphite 1500 model. I really liked that leaflet n it got "lost" in a house move! grr! I used to write to hoover all the time asking about features on the newwave. They always used to reply!!

New Wave Features

The early New Waves had the 6 components as listed by l86810. The 'Sensorspray paddles' are asymmetric; ie, they have a steep side for robust fabrics, lifting them higher, and a shallow side for delicates. The direction of the drum depended upon the programme.

Newwave1: I used to write to them too, and they were very good at replying!

Darren - a brilliant acquisition! Gotta love that racing green, reminds me of the Morphy Richards kettle and toaster we had during the late 90s!

Loving the videos, can't wait to see it for myself this coming weekend! Would love to see the results especially from the 1400 spin, seeming as your last NW only did 800 :-(.

Nice to see the box of Ariel to accompany the New Wave - what with it being Hoover Recommended and all :-). The Ariel box almost matches the fascia panel, too! :-).

Take care, and congratulations!

Hi Darren

A big congratulations from me. I know you love these machines. I remember Servis selling machine's in that colour too.

I will give you a ring soon.

Rob

And just when you think it's all a bed of roses.............

The machines ON/OFF button was stuck in since i got it. No biggy i've just turned it off at the wall. Then after i finished filming these videos i decided to see what was going on.

I pushed it in it popped out then it wouldn't stay in when i pressed it so i couldn't turn it on. then i pushed it and it collapsed in! HELP ME! I really ******G hope this isn't major. What a let down this will be for me. I'll have the top off tomorrow. I'm far to mad to do it now.

Any advice would be appreciated guys. Really.

D
