Best of Luck!

Coming from a brother in arms! :-) I've been in the US Army for over 5 years and I can tell you, even in Greece, an Army will change you in many ways for better AND for worse. It will be an adventure you'll be glad you had though! Good luck to you!

Jon

well, yes

The German army overwhelmed them...but there were just a wee bit more soldiers on the German side.
Just a few...
The Greeks fought hard, courageously, brilliantly and, sadly, often without the promised support of their allies.
I spent nine years working with the NATO forces in Europe (civilian) and the Greek soldiers were always courteous and professional. More than can be said for some other NATO forces...

Re: Good Luck Johnny:

I was Drafted into the ARMY here in the USA, during the VIETNAM War/Police Action time and fortunately for myself, was able to remain in the States. I ended up at Fort Carson, Colorado and I was Assigned to an Artillary Unit. I was a Cook, so I had a pretty good Job for my time of Service. I found my first "True-Love" at the Base and he was a Chaplain's Assistant. We've been in contact "via" Internet and on the Phone through the years. We did get to see each other for a short visit in the early 1990's, when he had to go out of State from Colorado to California, for his Job. He stayed at Fort Carson, after Retiring from the Military and continued in a different Field of Work at the Base, as a Civilian Employee.

Anyway, I wish you well Johnny and as asked already by others, show us some great Pix's of yourself in Uniform, as well as some of the other Guys at the Base you are located at.

Peace, Blessings and Regards, Steve

good luck johnny

Dont listen to the ney sayers, there is nothing wrong with serving your country . I am profoundly proud that you are taking on the task. As a Navy man I can say it was indeed the worst thing Ive ever been through. In the same breath I can say it was also the best time of my life.

Starting is hard, My prayers are with you as I know all of the AW families are, even those with a negative attitude. With allies like us youre going in with an extra team behind you.

Cant wait to see the new you in Uniform. Secertly keep a part of your oldself intact though, something those drillers cant see like your heart.Your gonna do great.

RELIGIOUS DON'T READ IF SENSITIVE!

Johnny:
Best I could do. My "MIKPON EUXOLOGION" (prayer book) had none.

PEACE BE UNTO YOU!

Praying For Soldiers During War
by Archimandrite Nektarios Serfes
Boise, Idaho, USA
December 2003

--------------------------------------------------------------

Christ our True God, who loves mankind, look down with mercy and compassion upon every soldier who is facing a daily struggle with war, aggression and terrorism. Each one desires to live before You, and be ever protected by Your Right Hand. Preserve them, we humbly pray, and watch over them every given hour. Guide their steps, give wisdom and discernment to all who are in leadership, that Your will may prevail, and that they may return safely to their homes and loved ones.

We beg You to hear the cry coming from our hearts, dear Lord Jesus Christ. We know that we are surrounded by many dangers. We are frightened as destruction; pain and death seem so near. We hurt with those who are hurting, and grieve with those who grieve, whether on the battlefield or in their homes.

Draw us closer to You, we pray. Grant to us and to each soldier the desire to say as the Psalmist did, "I will say of the Lord, 'He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.' He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge." (Psalm 91)

In Your righteousness forgive us as we continue in the defense of our beloved country. Watch over those whom we love, our wives, our children, relatives, and friends, as well as all civil authorities. May Your guiding Spirit be with those who govern us. Bless our country America, our allies, and all those who love freedom, peace, and good will among all men.

May Your mercy be ever granted to us, for without fear but with love, humility, and obedience we to turn to You, that we may be strengthened, stand firm, and live.

Through the prayers of our Holy Fathers, Lord Jesus Christ our God, have mercy on us and save us. Amen.

Humbly In Christ Our Lord,

+Very Rev. Archimandrite Nektarios Serfes

Toggles,

That was so sweet of you!

And, as for the religiously sensitive, it isn't any of their business - Johnny is laying his life on the line to help defend the United States and other NATO partners against the real threat of real terrorists.

Of course, it was the christianists who are responsible for opening the Iraq war instead of focusing on the real threat in Afghanistan...

Well best of luck Jonny, we will miss you :(

P.S. Mr. Unimatic... dont delete my Account ok?????? :)
