I owe Chris so much and so many thank yous for his time and effort (he gave up three of his Saturdays) to work on the range. He did a super job. ((--::

And to think it was literally in pieces on the family room floor just yesterday morning!

Well, I think he could find a job real quick as a Frigidaire Flair bonefide repairman! ((--::

Oh, and Tom, think nothing of it.

The only thing that Chris still might have some little doubt about is if the speed heat burner itself has to be changed out when the new "replacement" switch that takes the place of the old speed heat control switch is put in.

We've been told repeatedly that it doesn't have to be changed out. Would just like to hear your thoughts.

More pics to follow showing progress being made in move in future weeks.

Dick, that Flair is just beautiful!!!! You can sure see that there was a lot of love put into restoring this beauty!!! Can't wait to see more pictures.

Update please!

Dick - Would love to see more pictures of all the work you've been doing to the house. Also curious if you solved the refrigerator cold control issue?

62 frigidaire flair PARTS

Hi, If anyone needs parts for this model flair,I just parted one out. speed heat burner was bad,and not useable. most other parts available.THIS MODEL HAS A FUSE PROTECTING SPEED HEAT SWITCH!! fuse is inside behind control panel. I can be reached@: [email protected] Thanks,Walt

The Flair can be pulled & locked with only the two front surface units out, there is a cut out switch that prevens the back two from working in this position. I have three Flairs, one in storage & two hooked up, on one, both the speed heat & heat minder work perect, the other, speed heat works fine but indicator light is shorted & stays on all the itme, heat minder never worked but most of then don't, it's the control, not the unit going out. by the way, does yours have the rotisserie in it? It was an option & rare.

Hey Walt-good to know about parts for the Flair. Mine is working like a top right now but I will certainly keep your info in mind. Thanks.

Patrick-The fridge now has a new thermostat and is working just fine. Thanks for asking. Chris looked at the original one thinking he might be able to fix it and put it back on to keep it more original but to no avail. At least the refrigerator is cooling and cycling properly.

Terry, the house is coming along nicely and pix will follow. Not that many pix have been taken lately as there has just been too much going on. ((--:: Had to take time out the other day and bake an apricot pie. The right oven (the large one) did a wonderful job and is only off about 12-13 degrees. The pie was so good I had to make another one! Now to try out the left one.

Yes, the two front burners work when the cooktop is pulled out only halfway BUT I don't have the rotisserie option. I am so please with the working unit that I'm not even bothered by that.

Your doing a GREAT job there. You have some very talented and knowledgable help.

Wonderful house.

Oh what a Philco

Just a spectacular house and the Flair would have been a deal-closer for me! But I'm so impressed with that beautiful bottom freezer Philco - stunning! Hope you enjoy many, many wonderful years in the new house.

I don't know if you were able to get the clock running again or not. I love these and have done so much research. Here is a link I have. It gives lots of information on everything to do with them including where to get the clock fixed. I'm sure I'm too late but this is a great link. Have a great day. Your home is gorgeous!

Once again, thanks for all the kind words of support and to Blondie-I appreciate the link and your thoughtfulness and NO you were not too late. It's always good to have thse to refer to.

Well, the house is ready to move into. The only thing that has not been done is selecting the vintage color scheme/s, trim color and painting the outside. Any ideas??? ((--::

I am still totally excited about this house and how grandly it represents the "period" I love BUT I do have a big problem with this move. I guess to make this short and sweet, I am having a huge problem moving out of the "cabin" I've called home for the last 23 years. Now I know that is crazy but the more I think about the move, the more I dig in my heels and lean more toward staying in the cabin. This daily emotional turmoil for the last four months is starting to make me sick and I can't reach a decision how ever hard I try. I'm evening thinking of seeking the help of a therapist. This is totally weird behavior and thinking on my part and I'm nuts for not wanting to move into such a great period house.

Have any of you gone thru something similar to this, and if so, what have you done to relieve and correct it.

It may be quite simple!

First off....gorgeous house!!!

Your moving anxiety probably is due to the fact that this new house is just that. A house. The cabin has been your HOME!!!

Good luck and take it at your own pace.

Rich

Dick, I am not sure this will help you but it does for me! A very good friend always says that the world only spins in one direction, forward! I also look on life changes like this a chapters in ones life. I am sure that once you make the move you will be in love with the new home. Change is never easy but so often good for us!!

Yes, I've had....

..that exact thought running thru my mind quite often since I became the caretaker of the house-that I have been so fortunate and lucky as to become just that! I will be moving in shortly and most likely everything will start falling into place and I will stop missing the cabin so terribly.

I am now out scouting and searching for furniture for the house. I have been told just to take up my furniture from the cabin on a temporary basis while I look for "period" pieces but I can't see any merit in going to all that work. Man, danish modern is totally out of sight when it comes to cost but I am finding pieces in the most funky little shoppes and out of the way places. Since the picture of the DR I've attached was taken I have found a side buffet and am thus finished with the DR and moving on to he living room and Master BDR.

Terry, I think of what you wrote and will try to look at this move in that light. I just hope this all works as this is the kind of house I've dreamed of all my life.

Believe me Dick, it will!! You wouldn't have found this fantastic home if it wasn't meant to be the next chapter in your life!! Love that dinning room set. Be sure to keep us posted.

Terry
