most of the ranges I see posted in white... have the black glass door
I so dislike black glass.. I am partial to white....
can that glass be slid out and replaced with white? on most brands?
there are two at least used appliances places here in town...
oh I know steel can be painted as I have had that done.
C raigs list is full of those flat top digital stoves...with the digital oven controls....How come..? I know some people are changing to SS , so they say in their ads
Hubby was supp to look at two stoves while in the city but he got invoved in other things. He did find an over under at Habitat Restore but they wanted over $350 for it.. way too much in price I think...
I see a few for like $50 but they are always Hours away
course I like My Corning cooktop but its like 34 inhes wide.. It just in a 2 by 4 frame straddling the space between the two countertops and a p7 oven jut sitting on the floor underneath.. It look so tacky
found a 30 Flair on Cl ....no pic ...and the guy was so rude on phone he hung up on me
ah well

for the most part with flat top stoves.....make sure all the burners work....that's the main reason people get rid of them.....

something as simple as a fry pan dropped suddenly or sometimes you would smack a bag of frozen veggies on the top.....that alone will crack that rod underneath, and render that burner useless.....any grave yard of appliances has rows of these types of stoves....mostly for that reason....

even the bed that the coils lay in is made of a fibered material, will easily break apart in your hands.......

I have seen people change out oven doors for different colored ones in older model stoves but not in the newer current ones.
They swapped out the entire door on the oven to give it a mix-n-match look.

I have never seen oven doors that have swapping panels on them like what dishwashers use to have where you could change it's color.

It can't be plain glass. It has to be tempered glass so that it does not break into jagged shards that will sever an arm or leg. You have to make sure that the range in question had a white glass door available. White glass was not as good for looking into the oven because of its propensity for reflecting ambient light in front of the door so it generally had to have a clear rectangle in the door where a black glass door could be all black glass.
