Can Anybody Date this Kenmore Washer?

I bought this at an estate sale over the weekend for $50. Just curious as to how old it might be. I also have the manual and the parts list. The model # is 110.6514712. On the cover of the parts list (bottom left corner) is "11-66", so I'm wondering if that's the month and the year.

1965, on a kenmore the year is the first two digits of the model number.

That is indeed a 1965 model. If you give us the serial number off the back, we can tell you the year and week it was manufactured.

This was a prolific model. A late 1966 build date would not surprise me.

Here is my machine, a slightly later version but still a 110.651471x (x = something, I can't remember. The higher that number, the more model revisions there were). Mine was built in early 1968 and is the final version before Sears finally replaced the model.

Gordon, this was the washer in the original post that I was telling you about that we had growing up with the engraved A-F, slider water-level, and self cleaning lint-filter light.

Okay I've got the serial number. I plugged it into the website that yogitunes provided but I got the message, "Serial number does not conform to known patterns for this brand."

The official digits from the back of the washer are:
Model # - 110.6514712C00
Serial # - 12157J65C

Supposedly this unit is in working order and was used fairly recently, but I haven't tried it yet and won't get the chance until I move into my new home on the 24th! ^_____^ I would love to find a matching dryer some day ...

Thanks, Kevin! I will definitely be spending some time here. The house I am buying has some old appliances that I will need some info on from you smart people.

Here are some photos on the interior. It definitely needs a good cleaning and my apologies for the bad photography (I'm using my phone). The inside is white, but appears to be grey because the washer is still in the back of my truck and it's parked in the shade.

Thanks for the info. update. You said:

I am betting that the serial 12157J65C is actually 12157J650. If so, that would be production in St. Joe Michigan (J) in the 50th week of 1966. That translates into mid December, 1966 which agrees perfectly with the date on your literature.

Other than a little bit of cosmetic difference, my machine does not have the filtering light. It has the later agitator in gold with the gold scrubber cap.

In case you are ever shopping for parts, the C00 in your model number is not really part of the official model number. I'm not sure why Sears did that, other than to denote color (C for Coppertone), but the full model is 110.6514712. I think mine is 110.6514715.

That makes perfect sense because the serial number looked like it had been stamped several times. Guess they just couldn't get that "O" to come out right and gave up on it.

Again, thanks so much for the info! I really didn't expect to get so many answers so quickly.

As far as I know, no.    You'll just have to check back to see if anyone has replied.   If you do choose to go for the membership upgrade (only $12 for the year, less for less then a year), there are easier ways to tell if a thread has been replied to or not.

Does anyone know how high in the line this washer might have been? It seems to my eyes that it's only a step down from Lady Kenmore, given that all settings but water level are made automatically by timer position. Only things missing are the buttons to control the settings and timer dial position.
