This washer in the line, and white baskets
This model is at least 3/4 up the line, but it is not second to the Lady. This is considered (by model number anyway) a 70 series machine. There seems to have been one alphabet and one standard 70-series each year. There would have been at least one possibly two 80/800 series machine(s) before the Lady K as well.
As far as 1965s go, I have both the 65 Lady K and the '65 800. The 800 is a little easier to use as it has five manually selectable temps. There may have been an alphabet 800 that year too, I'm not completely sure. There are always hold-over models from previous years too...
Sometimes all too complicated. Sears wasn't selling a line of cars, just washers.
As to the white baskets, in the 1960s, they seemed to be used in 70-series models and up. By the seventies, I think they were LK only (1971-1975). By the late 70s tubs were blue/gray speckled with white, or beige speckled with white, the beige being in the fancier machines. I am not aware of any pure white until the 1983 line came out with the double coated white in several models including the LK.
