Liquid Gold on the toilet? Even I'm not that shoddy of a housekeeper ;-)

When I do my thing I just use a cloth that I've sprayed some LG on. Although I have been giving the living room doors (which have been dried out by the sun for the last 50 years) some extra treatment.

When I first got the coffee table, it had cracks all the way through it that I clamped and glued. I have been treating it with "moisturizers" (mostly LG) and it's much better than it was.

My understanding is that Liquid Gold is a petroleum distillate. And besides being highly flammable, it is probably not the healthiest thing in the world either.
And be careful how you handle your polishing cloths....they may self-combust.

P.S. Back then, perhaps a seat belt or some velcro may have been in order on the throne.

BEAUTIFUL Chickering Grand!!I would "take out" any housekeeper or anyone for that matter If I had that piano in my home and were even approaching it with a can of Liquid Gold-Keep the Liquid Gold AWAY from that one!!Truely a magnificent instrument.Bet it sounds just wonderful!!Player pianos could be considered the ultimate "Hi-Fi" for piano music-Piano music is DIFFICULT to record properly.

Rickr, Love the player! I have a 1916 Waltham player made in Milwaukee Wis. I, too have had the piano rebuilt and sounds great. No polish there either. What do you use to clean the ivory on the keys? Thanks, Gary
