Found on the street yesterday awaiting the garbage man, now under going renewal.
These canisters are well liked by some, never used one myself. Slightly chintzy feel to some of the plastic so it behoovers one to be extra careful whilst disassembly is going on.
Here in NYC the biggest apartments are average sized, and here in the LES (Lower East Side to country folk) apartments are tiny. Soooo not surprisingly this vac has low miles, and thankfully no especially unsavory smell.
First thing, why was it booted to the curb? Well the pictures tell the story. A quick test reveals a clogged hose and power head inlet, but everything else working as it should headlight and all. Also another big bonus, all attachments present and accounted for!
Used our red Panasonic vacuum to get the big stuff, and then disassembled the power head for a quick bath and a spritz with my, "as seen on TV" TOTALLY AWESOME CLEANER. Gonna leave the body intact, meaning no major disassembly into the motor compartment, as it looks good enough and I'm not in my garage workshop in California where such a task is more inviting, with an air compressor and other useful tools for such jobs. The body and bag chamber will be cleaned well, I'm just leaving the main motor alone.
The wheels had some old disintegrating thread-reinforced-packing-tape around them...I guess for quieter operation on hard floors above another apartment.
Very little hair, even under the brush roll end caps(!), just lots lots of sheep's wool(?) gumming up the works. I think my other Hoover uses a HEPA bag that will fit this, more on that after reassembly.[this post was last edited: 3/30/2016-15:10]
