"closet" is a general term around here too, that could be considered the whole house some days! It would take a couple of hours to gather everything into one spot for a photo-op.

My grandmother had the 8 and 4 cup versions of the drip coffeemakers - heating water in a teakettle, pouring into the glass bowl, the process was half the fun. I would sit watching and listening the whole time the water was filtering through...

I have found lots of Corning in the last few months, I refuse to buy it on Ebay when I find it at thrift stores and estate/garage sales for next to nothing. I should inventory what I have now and make a list of things I'd like to find. I have service for about 900 now of the Corning Centura tableware - Cornflower and the white Coupe designs. Almost indestructible!

Could there possibly be a ‘patent’ infringement????
The pot on the left is the one by Eric Sloane and started off this thread. It is made by Corning and has the removable insert.

The pot on the right is by West Bend. It is all stainless steel and has a very similar removable insert and uses the same ‘flat’ plug that is used by Corning Ware(and notice the bottom...no need for a trivet).

How could two different manufacturers use the same design?

Anyone care to venture ‘out’????

OK, that's it. I gotta have one. You guys have percolated percolating thoughts into my vacuum pot mind. It's called an Electromatic. I love anything that's "omatic". That means that Helen can enjoy her life without all the hassle and drudgery of doing things manually.

But some things are best done by hand
