Cedar chest stains on bed linens- How to remove?

I picked up some vintage white Cannon muslin sheets at an estate sale, they are new and unwashed but were out of the packaging and stored in a cedar chest. They have some rust colored stains that I assume were from the chest.

Can these stains be removed and if so how?

Those storage stains are fairly common to vintage linens.

You can either send them out to a professional textile restoration service, or do the work at home.

It involves lots of soaking (sometimes days or for weeks) with perhaps chemicals.
