Watched the clip--EXCELLENT-remember this from when I was little---Mom would put the cake pan upside down on a bottle-Us kids had a hard time waiting for the cake to cool before frosting or eating!

If anyone remembers the old Van de Kamps bakery, they used to sell an angel food cake with a light chocolate frosting that was out of this world. I don't think the frosting was whipped but the consistency was just short of it. For years I've been trying to find either the recipe for it or a copycat version. I've seen other frosted angel food cakes in stores but they always use regular heavy frosting, which is beyond gross on that kind of cake.

To Keith, sorry I can't take credit for the OCD hotline thing. It's at least or maybe older than I am. So steal away. :)

Lesson learned!

Just tasted the fresh orange chiff cake. FABU! However, if you do decide to bake it in a 9x13 pan I strongly suggest not trying invert the pan to cool (ask me how I learned this!)

ouch, that was a lot of work, to lose some of the cake to the pan ...did you top it with Meringue or top it with something else, to let you enjoy it a few more days?
