Go get them!!! That's the exact dryer (except it isn't avocado) that I mentioned I may get down the road in another thread posting today or yesterday.

Chrome lint filter

What years did Maytag use the chrome filter? I thought all chrome filters were used on the early 800 and 900 series only.

"Try selling that on ebay and see what an auction war will bring you."

I'm prepared for a bidding war. Let the games begin :)

Dan - the chrome lint filter was used on the Washpower TOL automatics (A806 and A906) from 1966 through approx. 1972. I would need to dig around in the 'Let's talk service' bulletins to get the exact dates (this has been a goal for quite sometime, document and post all the dates for those various fun features).

Previously, the start of the lint filter was actually a gold anodized flat top filter on the 141 in 1957. This is an extremely rare beast - much more rare than the chrome job seen above. Then on the later 141 and 142 it when to a flat-top chrome filter. Starting in 1964 the fabric softener was integrated in the chrome filter, with a black cup.

Assuming that a previous dealer or owner decided they wanted to dress up their Maytag with some chrome. God bless them! This actually is a nice set and would make a family or collector happy.

Thanks for the info swestoyz!

With all of this great info, I'm slowly narrowing down the year of my grandmothers A806/DE806 washer/dryer. I'm guessing they were made somewhere around 1973-1975. No chrome trim strip on the front panel, no timed bleach dispenser, and no chrome lint filter.
