Warming plate
I use a salton hotray like the one in this link. Got mine for much less. I also use the Chemex brand filters, but I use the prefolded ones. They seem to have better filtration and keep the coffee grounds in contact with the water longer.
There is a drawing of one in the first edition Betty Crocker cookbook.
But my daily driver is a Sunbeam C-30, and it continues to be my favorite. Somehow the coffee, which starts out delicious, seems to hold its flavor/freshness in the pot on the low setting better than auto drip makers.
I agree about the thermos. I love the glass lined thermos bottles and pitchers. I use the Thermos brand pitchers and have several from the 50's through the 90's. They will keep coffee steaming hot and fresh for almost 8 hours and iced beverages for two days in moderate weather.
