Yes. I have never used as much bleach as I do now. The Kenmore and LG sanitize cycles babied me for years. The GE just can not compare. A lot of loads end up having a little bleach added. I actually really like the Clorox bleach pacs as they are not very strong and seem to not cause any bleach spots. Just enough to keep me happy I guess. Being a healthcare professional doesn't really help the situation either, though.
With that said, I would take bleach over the quat ammonium and 'antibacterial' products any day of the week.

I don’t use it very often

I do use the Clorox Clean up spray in my kitchen sink. Spray, wait 5 min
rinse, and finish off with Bon Ami
Makes quick work out of stains and sanitizes.
For laundry, I’ll use pure sodium percarbonate along with Stpp & some kind of detergent. With hot wash, warm rinse. This work better for me than LCB, as LCB will cause yellowing on certain soils and fabrics.
On the other hand I alway keep a small bottle of LCB on hand.

No the EGGY smell

is when I have egg in dishes and run the dishwasher....and it leaves dishes covered in this smell....so I rinse any egg residue before loading in the dishwasher. It's not bad if a little egg is left on the plate/bowl... It's when you don't rinse it at all and just toss the dirty egg covered bowl in the dishwasher...It's gross. The only way I can describe it is when drinking out of a glass that appears clean and is clean...it's like a wet dog smell.... again...I know it's from egg residue. And using good detergent/bleach.. it doesn't matter. It's still there.. No issue at all if I rinse the egg off before putting plate/bowl in dishwasher.

about bleach dangers...You can get by with so little bleach...The only exposure I have to LBC is when I put it in a spray bottle...but it's only a tablespoon of LCB diluted in mostly water...I don't mix bleach with any other chemical.....
